Abstract
The invention relates to devices for preparation of purified, compressed and dried air intended for use by various consumers in a pneumatic system of a rail car. The air conditioning unit for a rail car pneumatic system is structurally based on a combination of a double-stage piston oil-free compressor (23) and a compressed air drying unit (33) that is based on a membrane dryer (46). In order to eliminate cyclic stretching and compression of hollow polymer fibers of the membrane dryer (46) during intermittent changes of compressed air pressure in the pneumatic system due to the oil-free compressor (23) operation, by way of ensuring constant compressed air pressure in the membrane dryer (46) and preventing contamination of the membrane (50) hollow polymer fibers by solid particles, the unit further comprises a second electromagnetic valve (57), a second air filter (58) and a check-valve (59) pneumatically connected in series.
