Abstract

Uso de un ácido nucleico que es apropiado para reducir la actividad enzimática de una invertasa en una célula de una planta para formar un órgano de almacenamiento de sacarosa de una planta, en el cual la concentración de sacarosa es mayor que la concentración de sacarosa de un órgano de almacenamiento de sacarosa de control del mismo genotipo y en un estadio de desarrollo comparativo. EL aumento de la concentración de sacarosa de X % puede provocar un rendimiento del órgano de almacenamiento de sacarosa diferente o igual, aunque en el caso de una disminución del rendimiento del órgano de almacenamíento de sacarosa la reduccíón es de un máximo de 5X %. La invención se refiere también, a un método para aumentar el rendimiento de sacarosa en el cultivo agrícola de remolacha azucarera y caña de azúcar, donde se emplean plantas de remolacha azucarera o caña de azúcar, cuya dotación genética está dirigida a la reducción de la actividad enzimática de una invertasa.
