Abstract
1. Process for automatic dosing of water in operating a foundry cooling drum (1) for the simultaneous cooling of foundry sand, core sand and cast characterized in that in the interior space of the cooling drum (1) the radiated temperature of the material (11) put in place and to be cooled is measured contactlessly, continuously in short time intervals by means of an infrared camera (4, 4a, 4b), that in a measuring transmitter electric signals corresponding with the measured temperatures are produced that in a controlling device (5a, 5b) going out from every one of these signals or from the average value of a plurality of the signals a commanding signal is produced, which then actuates on the control unit (6a, 6b) of a motor-driven, pneumatically or hydraulically driven metering valve.
