Abstract

1. Auxiliary device for regulating the brightness of low voltage fluorescent lamps (1), which device comprises a series reactance (2) and also a phase controlling dimmer (3), with an electronic valve (5), which has a line-side terminal connection (6) for the series reactance (2) and a lamp-side terminal connection (14), and also with further line-side terminal connections (9, 66), which are independent of the electronic valve (5), for the mid-point conductor or the outer conductor and with a further lamp-side terminal connection (10), characterised in that connected between the line-side terminal connection (9) for the mid-point conductor and the lamp-side terminal connection (14) of the electronic control valve (5) there is a high voltage coil (13) which is coupled with the iron core (15) of an inductive rapid-start device (12) and in that a line-side terminal connection (8) for the dimmer (3) is run to the control electrode (7) of the electronic valve (5) and in that the further lamp-side terminal connection (10) is connected with the output of the rapid-start device.
