Abstract

A device for packing trees with branches comprises a first part 1, which in use is kept stationary in relation to a base, and a second 2, which can be displaced in a horizontal plane in relation to the first part. The first and second parts comprise essentially vertical elements. Between the vertical elements of the first and the second part respectively a pallet can be accommodated, and there may be the facility, at least in connection with the vertical elements abutting the outer areas of the pallet and once displacement is completed, for fitting bracing elements for the trees present on the pallet. The largely vertical elements of the first and the second part respectively are designed so that, when the second part is displaced in relation to the first part, the said elements displace trees accommodated in the gap between the vertical elements to a position above and on the pallet. In connection with the device the facility is provided for running a binding material around the pallet, the bracing elements and the compressed trees in order to secure these in their position relative to one another, two opposite ends of the binding material being connected. The device is characterised in that means 3 are provided for displacement of the second part 2 in relation to the first part 1, the said means 13 being arranged in such a way that the points of application thereof on the first and the second part respectively are situated on a level below the loading plane, which is defined by the upper side of the pallet. <IMAGE>
