Abstract

The invention relates to a metered dispensing device for dispensing feeds to livestock. The device is characterised by the capacity to regulate the quantity of feeds that are apportioned to the livestock when feeding, and in that feeding can take place over a longer cycle. The metered dispensing device according to the invention comprises a reservoir 1 in which upper and lower plates 10, 11 are arranged at a distance A from one another. The plates 10, 11 can be displaced up and down in the reservoir in order to adjust the quantity of feed (F) that is to be dispensed. The plates 10, 11 are provided with cut-outs 12, 13, which comprise edge areas 14, 15, between which an angle α is formed. Above the upper plate 10 and between the upper plate 10 and the lower plate 11 projecting arms 16, 17 are fitted. The feed F has a stationary sliding angle β that is greater than α when the feed F is not in motion, and in this situation will not run through the cut-out 13 in the lower plate 11. When, however, the feed F is set in motion by means of the projecting arms 16, 17, the feed F will have a dynamic sliding angle δ which is less than α, and in this situation the feed F will run through the cut-out 13 in the lower plate 11 and out into the feeding trough for the livestock. <IMAGE>
