Abstract

1. Process for packaging foodstuff articles and cooked dishes, by means of which preservation may be ensured for a long period at room temperature and which consists in : - placing the foodstuff article, optionally cooked, in a container (1) whose edges are coated, on the side to be sealed, with a layer of thermoplastic material (2) based on a film which is drawn or not - depositing on the edges of the container and/or of the lid a composition that can be converted to an elastomeric seal (3) which adheres to thermoplastic materials - placing the lid (4) on top of the container and performing the closing operation by the effect of a light pressure, causing the elastomeric seal to adhere to the lid and the container. The process being characterized in that, as a composition for a seal, a silicone composition which adheres to thermoplastic materials is used.
