Abstract

Method of coating solid particles by using a material which is highly viscous or solid at room temperature, and of the type in which a molten mass and the fine-grained solid material to be surface-coated are each introduced via separate supplies 19 and 21 into a chamber 7 in a rotating mixing plate 3 and 4. The material is then conveyed into one or more spaces 13 designed for the solid material, after which these materials are, by centrifugal force, thrown outwards towards the periphery of the plate 3 and 4, the molten mass being pressed from its chamber 7 through a gap 9 in the plate 3 and 4 in the direction of the upper side of the latter. This produces a finely dispersed molten mass in the form of small drops which form a mist and are mixed together with the fine- grained solid material thrown out by centrifugal force and become attached to the surface of this material in such a manner that there is formed, around this material, a surface of a material which is highly viscous or solid at room temperature. <IMAGE>
