Description

Description
FIELD OF THE INVENTION
[0001] The present invention relates to a seating device, in particular a chair or a stool.
TECHNICAL BACKGROUND
[0002] German patent application DE 10 2014, 212, 558 A1 describes a seat for a chair, in particular an office chair, which comprises a molded body. The molded body has a saddle shape overall and is integrally formed as a hollow filler body made from a flexible, in particular elastic, material. At the moment, such saddle chairs still remain in the shadows because they look somewhat strange at first and usually only permit a single comfortable seating position. Furthermore, a chair having a back rest and arm rests is known from US 2007/102968 A1, said chair having a seat with levers arranged side by side, each of which can be pivoted up and down.
[0003] An ergonomic chair with a saddle seat is known from US 2011/012397 A1 . Furthermore, FR 2 871 348 A1 describes a seat with a central seat base and side sections pivotally mounted on the side by means of a respective hinge. Further, a chair, in particular an office chair, with a saddle-shaped seat is known from WO 02/07567 A1. The seat is made of a flexible material, whereby the curvature of the seat can be varied.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0004] Against this background, the object of the invention is now to provide an improved seating device of the type stated above.
[0005] According to the invention, this object is accomplished by a seating device having the features of claim 1.
[0006] The seating device has the advantage that it can be used as a conventional seat on the one hand and, if required, as a saddle seat. Saddle sitting provided by the saddle seat has the advantage that it prevents venous stasis.
[0007] The concept underlying the present invention is to provide a seating device which allows both conventional sitting and saddle sitting without a user having to change seating device. The seating device is designed such that the seating device can easily be switched between a standard seat and a saddle seat without cumbersome retrofitting. By dividing a conventional seat into a seat and seat elements mounted or hinged separately thereto so as to be pivotable upwards and downwards, the seating device may be configured very easily and conveniently as a normal seat and can be switched to a saddle seat when required.
[0008] Advantageous embodiments and further developments arise from the further dependent claims and from the description with reference to the figures of the drawing.
[0009] In one embodiment of the invention, in an upwardly pivoted position, the seat elements form a common seat surface with the seat so that the seating device can be used as a conventional seat.
[0010] According to the invention, the seat comprises a triangular portion, wherein the tip of the triangular portion points towards the forward face of the seating device to form a saddle shape. On the two opposing faces of the triangular portion, the seat elements are connected to the seat so as to be pivotable upwards and downwards so that, if necessary, a saddle seat may be provided by pivoting the seat elements downwards in respect to the seat. The seat elements form a comfortable lateral support for the thighs of the seated person.
[0011] According to one embodiment of the invention, at least one seat element is fixed pivotably upwards and downwards to the seat by means of at least one hinge. A hinge is a particularly simple and inexpensive pivotable connection of the seat element to the seat. In addition or as an alternative to at least one hinge, at least one spring plate may also be provided for pivotably connecting the seat element to the seat.
[0012] According to the invention, the seating device has a pivot device which is connected to the seat elements for pivoting the seat elements upwards and downwards in respect of the seat. The pivot device may be provided as a mechanical, electromechanical, pneumatic and/or hydraulic pivot device. For example, the pivot device may have a telescopic connection, a rectractable and extendable pneumatically, electronically and/or hydraulically actuated piston, etc.
[0013] According to the invention, the pivot device has a disk which is fixed rotatably to the seating device below the seat. The pivot device or its disk has, for example, the same distance from the two seat elements or is arranged centrally between the two seat elements below the seat on the seating device.
[0014] According to the invention, the pivot device for each seat element each has a bar element which is rotatably connected to the disk with a first end and to the seat element with a second end. Such a bar element is particularly simple to produce and easy to mount.
[0015] In one embodiment of the invention, the two first ends of the two bar elements and the mid-point of the disk are on a common horizontal axis. Such a symmetrical structure is easy to mount.
[0016] According to one embodiment of the invention, the second end of each bar element is mounted rotatably on a carrier and the carrier is fixed to the underside of the associated seat element. This allows the bar element to have a particularly simple construction, for example a grommet as the second end, through which a shaft, e.g. a bolt or screw bolt, for rotating the bar element may be passed.
[0017] In one embodiment of the invention, the carrier is formed as a U shape and has two legs between which the second end of the bar element is arranged and is fixed rotatably to the two legs by means for example of a screw bolt with a shaft section. On the one hand, such a carrier is inexpensive and, on the other hand, allows a stable and space-saving rotatable attachment of the bar element to the seat element.
In a further embodiment of the invention, at least one of the bar elements is formed as one piece or is at least bipartite. An one-piece or integral bar element is inexpensive to manufacture and easy to mount.
In another embodiment of the invention, the bipartite bar element has a first and second bar-element portion. The first bar element portion has the first end of the bar element, and the second bar element portion the second end of the bar element. Both bar element portions may, for example, be screwed into one another or screwed onto each other. The screw connection of the two bar element portions has the advantage that the length of the bar element may be adapted or varied as required.
According to one embodiment of the invention, the seating device comprises an arresting device. The arresting device is formed in such a way as to arrest the seat elements in a maximally upwardly pivoted position, a maximally downwardly pivoted position and/or at least one intermediate position. As a result, a user may, for example, adjust and arrest the slope of the downwardly pivoted seat elements at will in the case of the saddle seat setting.
[0018] In one embodiment of the invention, the arresting device is a rotary knob, for example. Such a rotary knob is inexpensive to produce, is easy to mount and can later be easily operated by the user.
[0019] In a further embodiment of the invention, the seating device has a seat height adjustment device, for example a gas spring, for adjusting the height of the seat and the seat elements connected thereto. In this way, the user may conveniently alter and adjust the height of the seat or chair in the standard or conventional sitting position as well as in the saddle sitting position.
[0020] In another embodiment of the invention, the seating device has a back rest as well as optional arm rests. The back rest may be rigid or adjustable in height and/or slope. A back rest height adjustment device and/or a backrest slope adjustment device additionally increases the comfort of the seating device according to the invention.
[0021] In accordance with one embodiment of the invention, the seat and the seat elements connected thereto are adjustable in slope by means of a seat slope adjustment device and/or the seat has an all-round pendulum mount. As a result, the comfort of the the seating device during normal sitting and during saddle sitting may be additionally increased.
[0022] In one embodiment of the invention, the seat and the seat elements connected thereto are rotatable around a common axis. Comfort may also be further increased by rotatably forming the seating device in the circumferential direction [0023] In accordance with an embodiment of the invention, the seating device is, for example, a chair, e.g. an office chair, or stool. Furthermore, the seating device as a chair or stool may be formed to be capable of rolling.
[0024] The above embodiments and further developments may, where appropriate, be combined with one another as desired. Further possible embodiments, developments and implementations of the invention also include combinations of features of the invention that are described above or below with reference to the exemplary embodiments and are not explicitly specified. In particular, one skilled in the art will thereby also add individual aspects as improvements or additions to the respective basic form of the present invention.

DESCRIPTION OF EMBODIMENTS
[0028] Figs. 1 to 7 show a seating device 1 according to the invention, wherein the seating device 1 is shown in a folded-up position or starting position. Figs. 1 and 2 show the seating device 1 with an additional back rest 2 in a perspective view and a side view. In Figs. 3 to 7, however, the back rest is omitted. Fig. 3 shows the seating device 1 in a plan view, Fig. 4 shows the seating device 1 in a side view, and Fig. 5 shows the seating device 1 in a perspective view from below. Fig. 6, on the other hand, shows the seating device 1 in a front view, and Fig. 7 shows the seating device 1 in a rear view.
[0029] The seating device 1 according to the invention has a seat 3, on both sides of which an additional pivotable seat element 4 each is provided.
[0030] The seating device 1 shown in Figs. 1 to 7 and Figs. 8 to 18 below is formed, for example, as an office chair 5 which is mounted to be capable of rolling on chair rollers 8 as indicated in Fig. 15 below and is optionally rotatable around its axis. The office chair 5 has the back rest 2 as well as optional arm rests. In this case, the seating device 1 according to the invention may optionally be formed with a back rest height adjustment device and/or a backrest slope adjustment device 26 for adjusting the height and slope of the back rest 2, provided that such a back rest 2 is provided. In Figs. 15, 16 and 18 below, for example, such a slope adjustment of the back rest 2 takes place by actuating an associated back rest slope lever 27 of a back rest slope adjustment mechanism of the back rest slope adjustment device 26. By actuating the back rest height adjustment device 24 and an associated back rest height adjustment lever 25 for the back rest 2, as shown in Figs. 15, 16 and 17 below, and the back rest slope adjustment lever 27 of the back rest slope adjustment device 26, the height and slope of the back rest 2 may be adjusted as required.
[0031] The same applies to a seat or chair slope adjustment or a mount, which is similar to a sitting ball, i.e. horizontally rocking and or all-round pendulating, of the seat surface of the seat 3 and of the seat elements 4 connected thereto. Such a slope adjustment of the seat 3 is effected, for example, by a corresponding seat slope adjustment device 30 with an associated seat slope adjustment lever 31 which actuates a seat slope mechanism of the seat slope adjustment device 30.
[0032] The seating device 1 shown in Figs. 1-14 has, for example, an additional seat height adjustment device 28, for example a gas pressure spring, etc., with which the seat height of the seating device 1 may additionally be adjusted. The height of the chair or seat 3 is adjusted by the seat height adjustment device 28 by actuating the seat height adjustment lever 29 of the seat height adjustment device 28 shown, for example, in Fig. 15 -18 below.
[0033] At the top end of the seat height adjustment device 28, the chair mechanism is mounted with the seat 3 and its seat elements 4 and, if present, the back rest 2 and optionally additional arm rests, not shown.
[0034] The seating device according to the invention may, with a back rest and optionally additional arm rests, be formed, for example, as an office chair etc. or, without back rest and arm rests, as a stool as well. In addition, the stool may also be formed to be capable of rolling.
[0035] The respective seat element 4 is, for example, hinged to the seat element 3 in such a way that it may be pivoted between an upwardly pivoted position or starting position and a downwardly pivoted position or end position in which the seating device 1 provides a type of saddle shape or saddle seat. In the starting position, the seat 3 with the two seat elements 4 forms a common, continuous or substantially continuous seat surface. The plane formed by the seat 3 and the plane formed respectively by the seat elements 4 are, for example, at the same or substantially the same height, such as for example in the front and rear view of the seating device 1 in Figs. 6 and 7 and indicated in Fig. 6 by a dashed line. It is also conceivable that the seat elements 4, for example, are upwardly pivoted slightly above the seat 4 and its seat surface and form a type of U shape or arc with the seat 3.
[0036] In the downwardly pivoted position or end position, the two seat elements 4 are pivoted or folded downwards relative to the seat 3 and form therewith a saddle seat or saddle shape. The plane formed by the seat elements 4 thereby runs angled or oblique to the plane of the seat 3, as indicated for example in Figs. 13 and 14 below by a dashed line.
[0037] Until now, saddle chairs were still consigned to the shadows because they look somewhat strange at first and because some users possibly may not want to sit on such a saddle chair all the time.
[0038] The "saddle sitting," which is provided by such a saddle, has the advantage over normal chairs in that it prevents venous stasis during prolonged sitting.
[0039] By means of the seating device 1 according to the invention, saddle sitting and normal sitting may now be facilitated when required. In this way, a user can thus periodically or at his discretion enjoy the advantages of a saddle chair without having to completely dispense with a normal seat.
[0040] In so doing, the respective seat element 4 of the seating device 1 according to the invention may be arrested at least in the upwardly pivoted starting position and also in the downwardly pivoted end position. In a further exemplary embodiment of the seating device 1 according to the invention, at least one of the seat elements 4 may in addition be provided to be capable of arresting in various intermediate positions between the starting and the end position. As described above, Figs. 1 to 7 and the following Figs. 15-18 show the upwardly pivoted position or starting position of the seating device 1 according to the invention. The following Figs. 8 to 14 in turn show an example of the downwardly pivoted position or end position of the seating device according to the invention. The invention is not limited thereby to the degree of the downwardly pivoted or folded down seat elements 4, as shown in Figs. 8 to 14. The illustration is merely provided as an example. It is also conceivable that the seat elements 4 may be pivoted downwards by up to 90° relative to the seat 3 and its plane, depending on function and purpose.
[0041] The respective seat element 4 is pivotably or foldably connected to the seat 3, for example, by means of at least one hinge 9, or at least two hinges 9 as shown in Fig. 5 by way of example.
[0042] The seating device 1 further has a pivot device 10 for pivoting the seat element 4 relative to the seat 3 between the upwardly pivoted starting position and the downwardly pivoted end position.
[0043] The exemplary embodiment shown in Fig. 1 to 7 and the following Fig. 8 to 18 has, for example, a rotatable disk 11 which is arranged below the seat 3, for example on a connecting element 12, which connects the seat height adjustment device 28 and the seat 3. The disk 11 is arranged thereby, for example, in alignment with the seat height adjustment device 28.
[0044] A first end 13 of a bar element 14 is rotatably connected to the rotatably mounted disk 11, for example to the front side of the rotatably mounted disk 11. The other second end 15 of the bar element 14, on the other hand, is rotatably attached to the underside of the seat element 4. In addition, the second end 15 of the bar element 14 is fixed rotatably to the underside of the seat element 4 by means of a bracket. The second end 15 is designed, for example, as a grommet, through which a shaft or a shaft section of a screw element may be inserted.
[0045] In this case, the first ends 13 of the two bar elements 14 fixed to the disk 11 are, for example, rotatably attached to the front side of the disk 11 such that the two first ends 13 and the mid-point 16 of the disk 11 are aligned on a common horizontal or level axis, as indicated in Fig. 5 by a dotted line, when the seat elements are pivoted into the upwardly pivoted position or starting position.
[0046] The first ends 13 of the two bar elements 14 are thereby each screwed to the disk 11, for example by means of a suitable screw element 16 and rotatable around the longitudinal axis of the associated screw element 16. Such a rotatable attachment is particularly simple and inexpensive to produce. However, the invention is not limited to this attachment or to the attachment at the front side of the disk 11. In principle, for example, an attachment to the circumference of the disk 11 etc. is also possible.
[0047] In order to pivot the seat elements 4 in respect of the seat 3 into the end position, as shown in the following Fig. 8 to 14, a seat element operating device 7 with a rotary knob 18, for example, is provided by means of which the disk 11 may be rotated and as a result the seat elements 4 connected to the disk 11 via the bar elements 14 may be adjusted and then arrested in the configured position.
[0048] The rotary knob 18 is thereby coupled to the disk 11 such that the rotary knob 18 in an arresting position arrests the disk 11 so that a rotation or further rotation of the disk 11 is prevented. In one exemplary embodiment, as shown in Figs. 2, 17 and 18, the rotary knob 18 may be held or positioned in the arresting position or starting position by means of a spring element 6.
[0049] If the rotary knob 18 is actuated, for example, pulled forward for this purpose, as indicated by an arrow in Fig. 4, the rotary knob 18 is moved from its arresting position into an operating position in which the disk 11 may be actuated or rotated by means of additional rotation of the rotary knob 18 in order to adjust the seat elements 4 connected to the disk 11 via the bar elements 14. Once the disk 11 has been rotated sufficiently in a clockwise or counterclockwise direction by means of the actuated, i.e., pulled forward, rotary knob 18 and the seat elements 4 have been pivoted to a desired position, the rotary knob 18 can be released and is moved or pulled back by the spring element 6 into its arresting position in which the disk 11 can be arrested by means of the rotary knob 18 and no longer rotated.
[0050] In this way, the seat element operating device 7 by means of its rotary knob 18 may not only pivot the seat elements 4 between the upwardly pivoted starting position and the downwardly pivoted end position by rotating the disk 11 by means of the rotary knob 18, but also additionally arrest it in the respective pivoted position. In one exemplary embodiment of the seating device 1 according to the invention, at least one of the seat elements 4 may thereby additionally be arrested in various intermediate positions between the starting position and the end position by the seat element operating device 7 and its rotary knob 18. As previously described, the rotary knob 18 may be easily moved back, e.g. pulled back, into its arresting position by the spring element 6 to arrest the seat elements 4 in the desired position. To release the arresting and pivoting of the seat elements 4, the rotary knob 18 is easily pulled forward again against the force of the spring element 6 and additionally rotated in clockwise or counterclockwise direction until the desired position of the seat elements 4 is reached, as indicated in Figs. 4, 6, 8 and 13 by a double arrow. This has the advantage that the rotary knob 18 may be used both for actuating the disk 11 and thus pivoting the seat elements 4 and also for arresting the seat elements 4 in the desired position. This makes it possible to provide a particularly simple and cost-effective operating device and to dispense with an additional separate arresting device. However the invention is not limited to this embodiment of an operating device with a rotary knob. Any form of operating device may be provided, which is suitable at least to rotate the disk 11 and therefore to pivot the seat elements 4 connected to the disk 11. Preferably, the operating device may in addition be configured as an arresting device and arrest the disk 11 in a rotated position, and thus the seat elements 4 in a pivoted position, so that they cannot be adjusted unintentionally. A separate arresting device may also be provided, which can lock the seat elements 4 in a pivoted position.
[0051] In Fig. 4, the moving forward of the rotary knob to release the arrest of the disk 11 is indicated by an arrow. The rotation of the disk 11 by rotating the rotary knob 18 is again indicated in Fig. 4, 6 and 8 by a double arrow. At the same time, the pivoting of the seat elements 4 is indicated accordingly in Fig. 6 and 8 by arrows. If, as indicated in Fig. 6, the disk 11 is released or enabled for rotation by the rotary knob 18, the disk 11 may be rotated in a counterclockwise direction, for example, by the rotary knob 18, and the respective seat element 4, which is connected to the disk 11 via the respective bar element 14, may be pivoted downwards as indicated by an arrow in Fig. 6. In so doing, the seat element 4 pivots downwards right up to the desired intermediate position or end position, as shown in the following Figs. 8 to 14. At the same time, the other seat element 4, which is also rotatably connected to the disk 11 via its bar element 14, is thereby pivoted downwards into the desired intermediate position or end position by the rotation of the disk 11, as shown in the following Figs. 12, 13 and 14.
[0052] To arrest the seat elements 4 in a respective desired position, including the starting, the end or an intermediate position, the rotary knob 18 is simply released and moved back or pulled back into the starting position or arresting position by means of the spring element 6.
[0053] As shown in the exemplary embodiment in Figs. 1-14, the respective bar element 14 is, for example, formed bipartite and has a first and second bar element portion 19, 20. The first bar element portion 19 has the first end 13 of the bar element 14 and is rotatably bolted, for example, to the first end 13 at the front side of the disk 11, as previously described. The second bar element portion 20 in turn has the second end 15 of the bar element 14, which is rotatably fixed to the underside of the seat element 4. For this purpose, the second bar element portion 20 has a through-hole, for example a bore, through which, for example, a screw bolt 23 may be inserted. The second bar element portion 20 is arranged between two legs 21 of a U-shaped carrier 22 and fixed rotatably thereto by means of the screw bolt 23. The U-shaped carrier 22 is in turn fixed, for example bolted, to the underside of the seat element 4. The invention is not, however, limited to this specific rotatable fixing of the second end 15 of the bar element 14 by means of a carrier, and in particular U-shaped carrier 22, and a screw bolt 23. Any attachment may be provided which is suitable for rotatably fixing the bar element 14 to the seat element 4 so as to allow an upwards or downwards pivoting of the seat element 4.
[0054] The first bar element portion 19 is connected to the second bar element portion 20, for example, by bolting. The first bar element portion 19 may thereby be capable of being screwed into the second bar element portion 20, as shown in the exemplary embodiment in Fig. 5, or screwed thereon externally, not shown. Conversely, the second bar element portion 20 may be capable of being screwed into the first bar element portion 19 or be able to be screwed thereon. By means of this bipartite embodiment of the bar element 14 and the screw connection of the two bar element portions 19, 20, the total length of the bar element 14 may very easily be adapted and adjusted, as required. However, the bar element 14 may also have any other suitable at least bipartite configuration. Furthermore, the bar element 14 may also be formed in one piece, for example as an elongated rod or bar. This is particularly cost-effective to produce and easy to mount.
[0055] The pivot device 10, as shown in Fig. 1 to 14, comprising a disk 11 and two bar elements 14, as well as an operating device 7 with its rotary knob 18 and the spring element 6, which is additionally configured as an arresting device, have the advantage that they are simple to realize and to mount and are inexpensive to manufacture.
[0056] However, the invention is not limited to this embodiment of the pivot device 10. The respective seat element 4 may also be provided by means of any pivot device which is suitable for an upward and downward pivoting of the seat elements 4. Such a pivoting device for pivoting the seat elements 4 may, for example, take place mechanically, for example by means of a telescopic connection, hydraulically, electromechanically and/or pneumatically, etc. The same applies to the operating device and the arresting device, which may be a separate part or alternatively part of the operating device. Such an operating device and/or arresting device may be embodied both mechanically, as described above by way of example, and also electrically, electromechanically, hydraulically and/or pneumatically.
[0057] As is shown in particular in the plan view and the side view of the seating device 1 in Figs. 3 and 4, the seat 3 forms a common continuous or substantially continuous seat surface with its seat elements 4 in the starting position. The seat may for example have a triangular portion, wherein the tip of the triangle points forward. The two seat elements 4 are thereby hinged to pivot upwards and downwards on two sides respectively of the triangular portion. The seat elements 4 have, for example, a square shape or trapezoidal shape, as shown in Fig. 3. Any other shape of the seat elements 4 suitable for the seating device 1 is also possible. The same applies to the seat 3.
[0058] In Fig. 8 to 14, the seating device 1 according to the invention is shown in the downwardly pivoted position or end position. Fig. 8 and 9 thereby show the seating device I with the additional back rest 2 in a perspective view and a side view. In Figs. 10 to 14, however, the back rest is omitted. Fig. 10 shows the seating device 1 in a plan view, Fig. II the seating device 1 in a side view and Fig. 12 the seating device 1 in a perspective view from below. Fig. 13 in turn shows the seating device 1 in a front view and Fig. 14 shows the seating device 1 in a rear view.
[0059] As shown in Figs. 12 and 13, the first end 12 of the bar element 14 of the one seat element 4 fixed to the disk 11 is, for example, rotated downwards in an anticlockwise direction from the position previously shown in Fig. 5 into the position shown in Fig. 12, as previously indicated in Fig. 5 by an arrow. Accordingly, the first end 13 of the other bar element 14 on the disk 11 is rotated upwards. In the position or end position of the seat elements 4 shown in Fig. 12, the first end 13 of the one bar element 14 is located for example in the lowest position on the disk 11 and the first end 13 of the other bar element 14 on for example the highest position on the disk 11. The seat elements 4 may be additionally arrested in this position by the operating device 7 and its rotary knob 18. For this purpose, the rotary knob 18 only needs to be released. By means of the spring element 6, the rotary knob 18 automatically moves into its starting or arresting position.
[0060] As described above, this downwardly pivoted position of the seat elements 4, in which they, together with the seat 1, form a saddle seat, has the advantage that venous stasis may be prevented.
[0061] In order to upwardly pivot the seat elements 4 back into the starting position, the operating device 7 is actuated with its rotary knob 18, pulled forward against the force of the spring element 6 described above for example, and the seat elements 4 of the seating device 1 are thereby moved upwards by the user by means of additional rotation of the rotary knob 18, as indicated by an arrow in Fig. 13, in the clockwise direction.
[0062] In so doing, the disk 11 rotates accordingly in the clockwise direction and with it the first ends 13 of the two bar elements 14 until, for example, the seat element 4 again reaches the upwardly pivoted position or starting position in Fig. 5. In this position, the seat elements 4 may also be arrested by the operating device 7 and its rotary knob 18 by the user simply releasing the rotary knob 18.
[0063] In this way, a user may comfortably switch back and forth between standard sitting and saddle sitting, as he wishes, and take full advantage of the comfort of both seat forms.
[0064] Figs. 15 to 18 show the seating device 1 according to the invention with the back rest 2 and the various slope and height adjustment devices and the associated slope and height adjustment levers. Figs. 15 and 16 show the seating device 1 from the rear, with the seat being mounted to be capable of rolling on chair rollers 8. Figs. 17 and 18 each show a side view of the seating device 1 according to Figs. 15 and 16.
[0065] As shown in Figs. 15, 16 and 17, the seating device 1 has a back rest height adjustment device 24 with a back rest height adjustment lever 25 as well as a back rest slope adjustment device 26 with a back rest slope adjustment lever 27 for changing the height and slope of the back rest 2.
[0066] Furthermore, the seating device 1 has a seat slope adjustment device 30 with an associated seat slope adjustment lever 31 for a seat or chair slope adjustment of the seat surface of the seat 3 and of the seat elements 4 connected thereto. In order to adjust the height of the seat and the seat elements 4 connected to it, the seating device has a seat height adjustment device 28 with an associated seat height adjustment lever 29.
[0067] If the seating device 1 is provided as a stool without a back rest 2, the back rest height adjustment device 24 with the backrest height adjustment lever 25 as well as the backrest slope adjustment device 26 with the back rest slope adjustment lever 27 are dispensed with accordingly. By contrast, for a stool without a back rest, the seat slope adjustment device 30 with the associated seat slope adjustment lever 31 and the seat height adjustment device 28 with the associated seat height adjustment lever 29 may be provided.
[0068] Although the present invention has been described above with reference to the preferred embodiments, it is not limited thereto, but can be modified in a variety of ways. In particular, the embodiments described above and exemplary embodiments can be combined, in particular individual features thereof.
