Description
BAG AWNING
The invention relates to a bag awning for arrangement on a trailer or motor home, wherein the bag awning comprises an awning shaft and an awning web, wherein the awning web can be rolled onto the awning shaft, wherein the awning shaft can be supported by at least one pole on the ground, wherein the awning shaft comprises a canopy on the opposite side of the awning web.
Bag awnings are well known from the State of the Art. Such a bag awning is fastened on the trailer or motor home at the side wall in transition to the roof area. For this purpose, the side wall of the trailer or motor home comprises a so-called piping rail, wherein correspondingly to it the bag awning has a piping element, wherein the piping element can be received by the piping rail in an insertable manner. Piping element and piping rail form a fastening means here. The bag awning extends only across the substantially horizontally running roof area of the trailer or motor home. The reason for it is that in the condition arranged on the motor home or trailer, the awning shall be rolled up in order to transport the awning in a condition, for example, fastened on the trailer, after the rolled up awning has been stored in a corresponding awning bag. The awning itself has on its front end an awning shaft, wherein on the awning shaft poles are arranged on both sides for setting up the awning which poles are anchored via ropes. Moreover, it is known to mount side walls on the awning so that an awning tent occurs. In this connection, a bag awning is known from EP 2 341 197 A2, which comprises a front and two side walls for forming an awning tent. Different from bag awnings are so-called retracted awnings for trailers or motor homes which are known. Such a retracted awning is characterized by the fact that it follows the contour of the side wall of the trailer not only in the roof area but also in the area of the front and/or rear end face. This means that by such a retracted awning the entire side wall of the trailer or the motor home is covered. Fastening of such an awning on the trailer or motor home likewise occurs by a piping element and a piping rail. But if, for example, the trailer shall change its location, it is necessary that the awning is removed entirely whereas the bag awning, as has been explained above, during the ride of the trailer or of the motor home remains on the trailer or motor home in a bag located on the side wall of the trailer or motor home which can be closed, for example, by means of a zipper, after having received the bag awning.
Furthermore, it is known to equip a bag awning with a canopy. Such a canopy has a length, hence a projection, of approx. 50 centimeters to 1 meter and is located on the awning shaft. The canopy has a canopy tie rod each on both sides, hence in the lateral border area of the canopy, wherein the respective canopy tie rod can be fixed by a bracket adjacent to the awning shaft with a socket for receiving the canopy tie rod on the awning shaft. At the free front end of the canopy tie rod the latter is supported by a substantially vertically oriented pole on the ground. Furthermore, the poles are anchored via ropes fastened to the ground so that the canopy itself is also put up in order to facilitate the draining of rainwater.
The disadvantage of said known canopy design is that the arrangement of the canopy on the awning shaft is very fragile in the sense that the bracket is only maintained on the awning shaft by force fit and/or friction fit, this means that the bracket remains on the awning shaft only, when the canopy web is firmly stretched by the canopy tie rod. In particular, if strong wind is imminent, it happens time and again that the bracket detaches from the awning shaft and the canopy hence collapses. It is also disadvantageous that the canopy at the front end is supported with respect to the ground on both sides by the poles and anchored by ropes. This means that not only the awning shaft is supported with respect to the ground by poles but also the front end of the canopy. Flence, there are four poles at a distance of approximately 50 centimeters up to 1 meter from each other. This restricts the freedom of movement, wherein in particular the anchoring ropes also represent tripping hazards.
In this connection the DE 20 2010 008 210 U1 shows a retractable awning with a canopy, wherein the canopy is arranged on the awning shaft with one end. At the other, front end, the canopy is anchored to the ground by ropes.
Accordingly, it is the objective of the invention to find a remedy here. In particular, assembly of the canopy shall be facilitated, and in particular, the freedom of movement of the occupants shall be restricted only slightly, if possible.
In order to achieve the objective, it is suggested according to the invention that the canopy is arranged on the awning in a freely projecting manner. If the canopy is arranged in a freely projecting manner on the awning, there is naturally no restriction of the freedom of movement of the occupants, for example, of a trailer in the area of the canopy on the ground.
Advantageous features and embodiments of the invention result from the dependent patent claims.
According to the invention, it is provided that the canopy at least on each side comprises a canopy tie rod which in the area of the awning shaft are connected with the awning in variable length. In this connection it is provided according to a specific embodiment that the awning at least on each longitudinal side comprises an awning tie rod, wherein each awning tie rod is held by the awning shaft, wherein the canopy tie rod is connected with awning tie rod in a telescoped manner. From this it becomes clear that the canopy tie rod is held by the awning tie rod, namely held in a telescoped manner, wherein preferably the canopy tie rod is fixable with respect to the awning tie rod, hence, for example, the canopy tie rod can be connected with the awning tie rod in a clamped manner.
Furthermore, it is provided in this connection in particular that the awning shaft comprises a bore for receiving the awning tie rod and/or the canopy tie rod. From this it results that the awning shaft positively receives the awning tie rod and/or the canopy tie rod.
In order to be able to put up the awning web by the awning tie rods, it is provided according to another feature of the invention that the awning tie rod comprises a stopper to rest against the awning shaft. The stopper can be a collar or a cam which is located on the awning tie rod.
In order to prevent that the awning shaft itself must be provided with a bore, it is provided according to an advantageous feature of the invention that the awning shaft comprises a connecting piece with a corresponding bore for receiving the awning tie rod and/or the canopy tie rod. Said connecting piece can be laterally inserted into the awning shaft and is connected, in particular non-rotatably, with the awning shaft.
According to another feature of the invention, the canopy comprises a canopy web, in particular a canopy fabric web, wherein the canopy web comprises at the free front end on both sides each a mounting for the canopy tie rod. The mounting can on the one hand be located as a bag arranged on the canopy web or as a pin, which is located at the free end of the canopy tie rod, and which receives an eyelet in the canopy web.
The canopy web forms advantageously a one-piece roof web with the awning web. In the area of the awning shaft, the roof web comprises a piping element so that it can be fixed on the awning shaft in a corresponding piping groove. When using such a one-piece roof web it is advantageous compared with a two-piece roof web with canopy web and awning web that there is no risk that water enters.
By means of the drawings, the invention is explained more in detail below by means of an example:
Figure 1 schematically shows the bag awning in perspective representation with the indicated trailer;
Figure 2 shows the awning shaft with awning web and canopy web, wherein the canopy web is connected with the canopy tie rod by means of a pin;
Figure 3 shows a representation of the canopy on the awning shaft with a bag on the canopy web for receiving the canopy tie rod; Figure 4 shows the clamping device in sectional view according to the line IV-IV from fig. 2.
According to figure 1, the trailer is generally designated with 1. The trailer 1 comprises the side wall 3, wherein on the side wall 3 approximately parallel to the roof edge a bag 5 is located which serves for receiving the bag awning.
The bag awning 10 shows an awning web 12, in particular an awing fabric web, forming the roof of the awning. The awning web 12 together with the canopy web 36 forms a one-piece roof web 37 which is fixed to the awning shaft. The roof web 37 is connected here with the awning shaft 20 by a piping connection 38. The piping connection 38 comprises a piping element 38a arranged on the roof web which can be taken up in a corresponding piping groove 38b by lateral insertion. On both longitudinal sides of the awning web 12 an awning tie rod 14 each is provided (figure 2) which is connected with the awning web 12. The awning web shows in the area of the bag 5, which - as has already been set forth - is fastened on the side wall 3 of the trailer 1, a bag 16 each on both sides for insertably receiving the awning tie rod 14. The awning shaft 20 comprises a connecting piece 22, which can be laterally inserted into the awning shaft 20, and is non-rotatably connected with the awning shaft. The connecting piece 22 has a bore 24 which serves for receiving the awning tie rod 14. The awning web 12 comprises at least one stopper 28 for creating a pretension on the awning web 12, whereby the awning tie rod can be supported on the connecting piece 22 of the awning shaft. The awning tie rod 14 protrudes through the connecting piece 22, wherein on the protruding end of each awning tie rod one canopy tie rod 30 each is fastened to form the freely projecting canopy 31. The canopy tie rod 30 is arranged on the awning tie rod 14 in particular in a telescoped manner, wherein by a clamping device 40 the canopy tie rod 30 can be fixed with respect to the awning tie rod 14. The clamping device 40 comprises a sleeve 41, wherein the sleeve 41 comprises a longitudinal slot 41 a with lateral bars 41 b (fig. 4), wherein by a swivelling lever 42 with lateral legs 42a the longitudinal slot in the sleeve can be pressed together by the legs 42a. A corresponding force in radial direction is exercised here onto the awning tie rod 14 which ensures that the canopy tie rod 30 arranged in a telescoped manner with the slot 14a in the awning tie rod 14 can fixed with respect to the awning tie rod 14 in a clamped manner, hence non-positively. At the front end, the canopy tie rod 30 has a pin 32, which protrudes through an eyelet 34 of the canopy web 36, whereby the canopy web 36 as a part of the roof web 37 can be put up with respect to the awning and /or in particular the awning shaft 20. Alternatively to fixing of the canopy web 36 by pin 32 and eyelet 34 on the respective canopy tie rod 30, according to figure 3, it can also be provided to provide the canopy web in the area of the front end with a bag 39 which includes the canopy tie rod 30.
The awning shaft 20 is held on both ends by a pole 50, which comprises at the end a groove piece 51 which can be removed by a thread and which can be laterally inserted into a corresponding groove 21 in the awning shaft.
