Claims (15)

1. Appreteringssaimnensætning til glasfibre omfattende følgende bestanddele: (a) et silanbaseret koblingsmiddel omfattende monomert siloxan eller oligomert polysiloxan på ikke mere end 10 enheder, fortrinsvis ikke mere end 6 enheder; (b) en filmdanner; (c) et borat; (d) et smøremiddel kendetegnet ved, at mindst 75 vægt-% af silankoblingsmidlet til stede i sammensætningen er dialkoxyleret og ikke et aminosilan.
2. Appreteringssammensætning ifølge krav 1, hvor mindst 80 vægt-%, fortrinsvis mindst 90 vægt-%; mere fortrinsvis mindst 95 vægt-%, mest fortrinsvis mindst 99 vægt-% af silankoblingsmidlet til stede i sammensætningen er dialkoxyleret og det resterende silan er trialkoxyleret.
3. Appreteringssammensætning ifølge krav 1 eller 2, hvor den totale mængde silan i sammensætningen er på mellem 2 og 20 vægt-% af den totale aktive sammensætning, fortrinsvis mellem 4 og 15 vægt-%, og mere fortrinsvis mellem 8 og 14 vægt-% hvor den "totale aktive sammensætning" betyder samtlige bestanddele, eksklusive vand eller andet opløsningsmiddel anvendt til at opløse eller emulgere sammensætningen og eksklusive flygtige hydrolysebiprodukter.
4. Appreteringssammensætning ifølge et hvilket som helst af de foregående krav, hvor det dialkoxylerede silan er et dimethoxysilan eller diethoxysilan, fortrinsvis glycidoxypropyl-methyl-dimethoxysilan eller glycidoxypropyl-methyl-diethoxysilan
5. Appreteringssammensætning ifølge et hvilket som helst af de foregående krav, hvor filmdanneren er valgt blandt gruppen af epoxyharpikser, mættede eller umættede polyesterharpikser, vinylester eller phenolharpikser og fortrinsvis er til stede i en mængde på mellem 40 og 80 vægt-%, fortrinsvis mellem 50 og 70 vægt-% i forhold til den totale vægt af den aktive sammensætning.
6. Appreteringssammensætning ifølge et hvilket som helst af de foregående krav, hvor boratet er valgt fra gruppen af boroxid, natriumtetraborat, kaliummetaborat, kaliumtetraborat, ammoniumbiborat, ammoniumtetrafluorborat, butylammoniumtetrafluorborat, calciumtetrafluorborat, lithiumfluorborat, kaliumtetrafluorborat, natriumtetrafluorborat, tetrabutylammonium-tetrafluorborat, tetraethylammonium-tetrafluorborat og zinktetrafluorborat og er fortrinsvis til stede i en mængde på mellem 0,2 og 8 vægt-% i forhold til den totale vægt af den aktive sammensætning, fortrinsvis 0,5 og 5 vægt-% mere fortrinsvis mellem 1 og 5 vægt-%.
7. Appreteringssammensætning ifølge et hvilket som helst af de foregående krav, hvor smøremidlet er en polyethylenglycolester og fortrinsvis er til stede i en mængde på mellem 5 og 30 vægt-% i forhold til den totale vægt af den aktive sammensætning, fortrinsvis mellem 10 og 25 vægt-%, mere fortrinsvis mellem 15 og 22 vægt-%.
8. Glasfiber til forstærkning af kompositmaterialer omfattende som appretering coatet på overfladen deraf reaktionsproduktet af en sammensætning ifølge et hvilket som helst af de foregående krav.
9. Glasfiber ifølge det foregående krav, hvor appreteringen har en opløselighed målt ved Soxhlet-ekstrahering med toluen på mellem 50 og 98 %, fortrinsvis mellem 70 og 95 %.
10. Kompositmateriale omfattende en matrix forstærket med glasfibre ifølge et hvilket som helst af kravene 8 eller 9.
11. Kompositmateriale ifølge det foregående krav, hvor matrixen er udvalgt fra hærdelige harpikser, fortrinsvis epoxy, umættet polyester, vinylester, polyurethan, eller fra termoplastiske polymerer, fortrinsvis polypropylen (PP), polybutylenterephtalat (PBT), polyethylenterephtalat (PET), polyetheretherketon (PEEK), polyetherimid (PEI), lineært polyurethan (PU), polycarbonat (PC), polystyren og copolymerer og terpolymerer deraf.
12. Kompositmateriale ifølge krav 10 eller 11, hvilket kompositmateriale omfatter mellem 60 og 65 volumen-% glasfibre placeret i én retning, hvilket kompositmateriale har en resistens over for short-beam-test ifølge IS0141 30 på mindst 65 MPa, fortrinsvis mindst 68 MPa, mere fortrinsvis mindst 70 MPa.
13. Kompositmateriale ifølge et hvilket som helst af kravene 10 til 12, hvilket kompositmateriale omfatter mellem 60 og 65 volumen-% glasfibre placeret i én retning, hvilket kompositmateriale har en strækstyrke ved 90° ifølge ISO 527/1 på mindst 40 MPa, fortrinsvis mindst 50 MPa, mere fortrinsvis mindst 55 MPa.
14. Kompositmateriale ifølge et hvilket som helst af kravene 10 til 13, hvilket kompositmateriale omfatter 63 volumen-% glasfibre placeret i én retning, hvilket kompositmateriale har en træthedsstyrke, som defineret i ISOl 3003:2003 til 0° trækstyrke på 0,12 % til 1,2 % af mindst 50.000 cyklusser, fortrinsvis mindst 100.000 cyklusser, mere fortrinsvis mindst 120.000 cyklusser, mest fortrinsvis mindst 150.000 cyklusser.
15. Anvendelse af et kompositmateriale ifølge et hvilket som helst af kravene 10 til 14 til strukturelle anvendelser inden for energiområderne, fortrinsvis vindmøller, vindmøllevinger, bølge- og tidevandsenergiomformere; transport, fortrinsvis motorkøretøjer, som bladijcdrc, trykbeholdere, luftfart og søfart; sport, fortrinsvis cykler, golfkøller, stave og ketchere; og militær, fortrinsvis i armerede køretøjer.
