Abstract

In extrusion production of continuous ice-cream bodies, e.g. for ice lollies, it is customary for the ice-cream blanks to be extruded in their longitudinal direction and thus cut off in relatively long pieces, which are deposited on their flat side on a receiving conveyor belt 2, which brings the blanks to a freezing tunnel 6. In the invention an extruding nozzle 4 is used, the height of which corresponds to the length of the blanks, while the width corresponds to the broad side of the blanks. The blanks 18 are cut off following extrusion corresponding to the extent of their short sides, and the cut-off blanks are caused to fall directly onto the conveyor belt 2. This is kept cooled to e.g. -15 degree, the fallen blanks immediately freezing fast on the belt in their upright position on it. The belt can hereby be utilized with increased capacity and freezing in the freezing tunnel 6 can operate more effectively. In addition, increased options are obtained for different profiling of the blanks. <IMAGE>
