Claims (16)
1. Fremgangsmåde til at kode et billede i en billedsekvens omfattende, at: opdele nævnte billede i et antal mindre dele, hvori hver af nævnte antal mindre dele er et par vertikalt tilstødende makroblokke; og selektivt at kode mindst en af nævnte antal mindre dele i framekodningsmodus og mindst en af nævnte antal mindre dele i feltkodningsmodus, hvori hver af nævnte makroblokkes begge felter kodes i fællesskab, hvis nævnte framekodning vælges.
2. Fremgangsmåde ifølge krav 1, yderligere omfattende: at danne nævnte par makroblokke fra en øverste feltblok og en nederste feltblok, når nævnte par makroblokke skal kodes i nævnte feltkodningsmodus.
3. Fremgangsmåde ifølge krav 2, hvori nævnte dannelsestrin omfatter, at: tage en øverste del af nævnte øverste feltblok for at danne et øverste felt i nævnte par makroblokkes første makroblok; tage en nederste del af nævnte øverste feltblok for at danne et øverste felt i nævnte par makroblokkes anden makroblok; tage en øverste del af nævnte nederste feltblok for at danne et nederste felt i nævnte par makroblokkes første makroblok; og tage en nederste del af nævnte nederste feltblok for at danne et nederste felt i nævnte par makroblokkes anden makroblok.
4. Fremgangsmåde til fra en bitstrøm at afkode et kodet billede, som har et antal mindre dele omfattende, at: afkode mindst en af nævnte antal mindre dele i framekodningsmodus og mindst en af nævnte antal mindre dele i feltkodningsmodus, hvori hver af nævnte antal mindre dele er et par af vertikalt tilstødende makroblokke; og anvende nævnte antal afkodede mindre dele til at konstruere et afkodet billede, hvori hver af nævnte makroblokkes begge felter afkodes i fællesskab, hvis nævnte framekodning vælges.
5. Fremgangsmåde ifølge krav 4 yderligere omfattende, at: danne nævnte par makroblokke fra en øverste feltblok og en nederste feltblok, når nævnte par makroblokke kodes i nævnte feltkodningsmodus.

Fremgangsmåde ifølge krav 5, hvori nævnte dannelsestrin omfatter, at: tage en øverste del af nævnte øverste feltblok for at danne et øverste felt i nævnte par makroblokkes første makroblok; tage en nederste del af nævnte øverste feltblok for at danne et øverste felt i nævnte par makroblokkes anden makroblok; tage en øverste del af nævnte nederste feltblok for at danne et nederste felt i nævnte par makroblokkes første makroblok; og tage en nederste del af nævnte nederste feltblok for at danne et nederste felt i nævnte par makroblokkes anden makroblok.
7. Apparat til kodning af et billede i en billedsekvens omfattende: middel til at opdele nævnte billede i et antal mindre dele, hvori hver af nævnte antal mindre dele er et par af vertikalt tilstødende makroblokke; og middel til selektivt at kode mindst en af nævnte antal mindre dele i framekodningsmodus og mindst en af nævnte antal mindre dele i feltkodningsmodus, hvori nævnte kodning anvendes på et par makroblokke, og hvori hver af nævnte makroblokkes begge felter er kodet i fællesskab, hvis nævnte framekodning er valgt.
8. Apparat ifølge krav 7, yderligere omfattende: middel til at danne nævnte par makroblokke fra en øverste feltblok og en nederste feltblok, når nævnte par makroblokke er kodet i nævnte feltkodningsmodus.

Apparat ifølge krav 8, hvori nævnte middel til at danne tager en øverste del af nævnte øverste feltblok for at danne et øverste felt i nævnte par makroblokkes første makroblok, og tager en nederste del af nævnte øverste feltblok for at danne et øverste felt i nævnte par makroblokkes anden makroblok, og tager en øverste del af nævnte nederste feltblok for at danne et nederste felt i nævnte par makroblokkes første makroblok, og tager en nederste del af nævnte nederste feltblok for at danne et nederste felt i nævnte par makroblokkes anden makroblok.
10. Apparat til fra en bitstrøm at afkode et kodet billede, som har et antal mindre dele, omfattende: middel til at afkode mindst en af nævnte antal mindre dele i framekodningsmodus og mindst en af nævnte antal mindre dele i feltkodningsmodus, hvori hver af nævnte antal mindre dele er et par vertikalt tilstødende makroblokke; og middel til at anvende nævnte antal afkodede mindre dele til at konstruere et afkodet billede, hvori hver af nævnte makroblokkes begge felter er afkodet i fællesskab, hvis nævnte framekodning er valgt.
11. Apparat ifølge krav 10, yderligere omfattende: middel til at danne nævnte par makroblokke fra en øverste feltblok og et nederste feltblok, når nævnte par makroblokke er kodet i nævnte feltkodningsmodus.

Apparat ifølge krav 11, hvori nævnte middel til at danne tager en øverste del af nævnte øverste feltblok for at danne et øverste felt i nævnte par makroblokkes første makroblok, og tager en nederste del af nævnte øverste feltblok for at danne et øverste felt i nævnte par makroblokkes anden makroblok, og tager en øverste del af nævnte nederste feltblok for at danne et nederste felt i nævnte par makroblokkes første makroblok, og tager en nederste del af nævnte nederste feltblok for at danne et nederste felt i nævnte par makroblokkes anden makroblok.
13. Apparat ifølge ethvert af kravene 10 til 12, hvori mindst et af nævnte antal par makroblokke indbefatter blokke indbefattende de samme mulige blokstørrelser, når blokkene i framekodningsmodus eller i feltkodningsmodus er til anvendelse i tidsmæssig prædiktion med bevægelseskompensation.
14. Apparat ifølge ethvert af kravene 10 til 13, hvori mindst et af nævnte antal par makroblokke indbefatter blokke, som har en blokstørrelse indbefattende 16 x 16 pixler, 16x8 pixler, 8x16 pixler, 8x8 pixler, 8x4 pixler, 4x8 pixler, eller 4x4 pixler, når i feltkodningsmodus eller i framekodningsmodus.
15. Apparat ifølge ethvert af kravene 10 til 14, hvori mindst en blok fra mindst et af nævnte antal par makroblokke er til anvendelse i en tidsmæssig prædiktion med bevægelseskompensation med en blokstørrelse indbefattende 16 x 16 pixler, 16x8 pixler, 8x16 pixler, 8x8 pixler, 8x4 pixler, 4x8 pixler, eller 4x4 pixler.
16. Apparat ifølge ethvert af kravene 10 til 15, hvori mindst et af nævnte antal par makroblokke er knyttet til et frame-/feltflag, frame-/feltflaget angiver framekodningsmodus eller feltkodningsmodus.
