Abstract

A ventilating valve utilised in cleaning machines in dry- cleaning shops is designed as an air trap which permits free passage of escaping air and vapours of liquids when emptied of liquid, and establishes a conventional air trap function when full. The valve is opened by draining liquid via a bottom valve 4, while the air trap function is established after closing the bottom valve via a liquid introduction valve 5 controlled from a liquid level detector 7. The valve is preferably utilised in dry-cleaning shops where a tight closing function is of major importance despite presence of dust or textile fibres. <IMAGE>
