Abstract

A recombinant vector contg. a DNA sequence encoding a protein with allergenic activity from a grass species pollen is disclosed. Also disclosed are: (1) recombinant DNA molecule contg. an eukaryotic or prokaryotic replication origin, a detectable marker, a DNA sequence encoding LolpI allergenic protein, its derivatives, homologues or a protein cross-reactive with an antibody against LolpI, its derivatives or homologues (A). A transcriptional promoter may also be included. (2) Method of isolation and identification of DNA encoding an allergic protein from Poaceae (Gramineae) comprising (compg.) hybridization of DNA from Poaceae with DNA or RNA encoding LolpI from Lolium perenne pollen, its derivatives or homologues. (3) Method producing (A) compg. culture of an organism contg. and maintaining a recombinant DNA mol. compg. a promoter expressing (A), a selectable marker and DNA vehicle contg. a prokaryotic or eukaryotic replication origin and synthesising (A).

Description
