Abstract

The packaging unit (1) for a roll (2) of mineral wool, e.g. roof insulation materials, is a covering (3) wholly around it of film or paper and the like. The covering is wound around the roll with overlapping ends (32) with a projecting carrier strap (41) incorporated a hand grip opening (42), which can also be used to tear the packaging open. The fastening end (43) of the strap lies between the overlapping wrapping ends.
