FIG. 1
REWINDER DEVICE
TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The invention, disclosed herein, generally relates to a rewinder device. More particularly, the invention relates to a rewinder device configured to fasten goods in lorry, trucks, ships and cargo related applications.
BACKGROUND
Lashings are generally used as wraps and fraps to tie two or more spars or sticks together to fasten and secure goods or cargo shipments. These lashes are predominantly used in lorry, trucks, ships and other transport mediums. Various types of cords such as electrical cords, coaxial cables and tubing’s are used for this purpose, but the storage is a major concern for all these cords. Generally, long lengths of flexible cords are wound in a coil fashion when not in use. But the storage medium is cumbersome and heavy.
Traditionally, workers in this industry manually wind the cord around the goods or cargo which is tiring and time-consuming process. Further, there are more chances for the worker to get injured himself in the process as well as the goods or the product might get damaged due to some minor accidents. So, the freight forwarder is always at greater risk without having a solution for easier and safer winding storage and reeling device.
Prior art patent reference GB 2381520 A assigned to Hall John, discloses a winding device for cargo straps or lashings wherein a fastening means located at one end comprises first and second winding posts which are separated by a distance corresponding to the length of the fastening device of the strap. The device also comprises adjustable winding posts used as an axle for engagement with the male and female member. Even though the device discloses a circular plate with a central opening and clamping pins as posts to wind the cord, the configuration of the passages in the circular plate and their engagement with the pins are not disclosed. Therefore, the winding loosening functionality using this device is not possible.
Hence, there is a long felt but unresolved need for a rewinder device which assists the workers especially in the freight forwarding industry to easily wind and store the lashing cords to fasten goods in lorry, trucks, ships and cargo related applications.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The rewinder device, disclosed herein addresses the above-mentioned need for a device to store the lashing cord to fasten goods in lorry, trucks, ships and other related applications. The rewinder device configured to store a cord to fasten goods comprising a generally circular plate having a central opening on a surface of the circular plate and a plurality of clamping pins to securely wind the cord on the rewinder device. A disc20 shaped support section is removably attached to the circular plate via one or more archshaped passages with a central elongated pin. The rewinder device further comprises the generally circular plate having one or more passages of predefined size equidistant with the central opening on the surface of the circular plate and the arch-shaped passages in the disc-shaped support section are equidistant with the central elongated pin wherein the disc-shaped support section is attached to the circular plate using the clamping pins to securely wind and store the cord on the rewinder device.

DETAIDED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
FIG. 1 exemplarily illustrates a front perspective view of a rewinder device 100. The rewinder device 100 is configured to store the lashing cord to fasten goods in lorry, trucks, ships and other related applications. The rewinder device 100 configured to store a cord to fasten goods comprising a generally circular plate 102 configured to have a central opening 106 on a surface of the circular plate 102 and a plurality of clamping pins 116 to securely wind the cord 118 on the rewinder device 100. A disc-shaped support section 110 is removably attached to the circular plate 102 via one or more arch-shaped passages 112 with a central elongated pin 114. The rewinder device further comprises the generally circular plate having one or more passages 104 of predefined size equidistant with the central opening 106 on the surface of the circular plate 102 and the arch-shaped passages 112 in the disc-shaped support section 110 are equidistant with the central elongated pin 114 wherein the disc-shaped support section 110 is removably attached to the circular plate 102 using the clamping pins 116 to securely wind and store the cord 118 on the rewinder device 100. The cord 118 is preferably selected from at least one of a lashing, a strap, a rope, a cable, a wire, a tape and string. The material for the cord 118 could be selected from variety of polymers, preferably a polyester material.
The rewinder device 100 as shown in FIG. 1 made from a steel material coated with polymers. The polymer is preferably selected from a polyethylene material to enhance the ductility and impact strength of the circular plate of the rewinder device 100. The clamping pin 116 comprises a bolt 120, a nut 122 and a washer 124 to securely fix the disc-shaped support section 110 onto the circular plate 102. In preferred embodiments, the rewinder device 100 comprises three sets of bolts 120, nuts 122 and washers 124 to rigidly fix the disc-shaped support section 110 onto the circular plate 102. However, in alternate embodiments, depending on the size of the lashing cord 118, the circular plate 102 could be designed with more clamping pins 116 to provide a stable support.
As illustrated in FIG. 2, the clamping pins 116 are used to fix the disc-shaped support section 110 onto the circular plate 102 of the rewinder device 100. The clamping pins 116 are removably attached to the circular plate 102 using a cordless drill machine. Preferably, any battery drill device could be used to tighten the clamping pins 116 and mount the disc-shaped support section 110 onto the circular plate 102. The clamping pins 116 are configured to receive and securely hold and store the cord 118 on the re winder device 100 and adjusted using a self-fastening mechanism to release the disc-shaped support section 110 from the circular plate 102 to unwind the cord 118 on the rewinder device 100. The self-fastening mechanism in the rewinder device 100 allows for automatic loosening of the clamping pins 116 in the arch-shaped passages 112 of the disc-shaped support section 110 to easily unwind the cord 118 on the rewinder device
100. The central elongated pin 114 could be a spindle tap used to fix the disc-shaped support section 110 on the circular plate 102 of the rewinder device 100 by inserting the central elongated pin 114 into the central opening 106 on the surface of the circular plate 102.
In a different embodiment as shown in FIG. 3, the disc-shaped support section 110 could be rotated in an anti-clockwise direction to release the clamping pin 116 to unwind the cord 118 on the rewinder device 100. The clamping pins 116 are made from the steel material. The circular plate 102 and the disc-shaped support section 110 are also made from the steel material. However, polymers could be coated for enhanced mechanical properties of the rewinder device 100. In additional embodiments, a polysheet could be used to make the circular plate 102 and the disc-shaped support section 110.
In another embodiment as shown in FIG. 3, the circular plate 102 comprises an inner circumferential surface 108 to define the reeling space for the winding the cord 118 on the rewinder device 100. The inner circumferential surface 108 acts as a resting support for the cord 118 wherein the clamping pins 116 with the disc-shaped support section 110 mounted on the rewinder device 100 securely holds the cord 118 for extended use. The method of using the rewinder device 100 is simple as the mounting of the discshaped support section 110 using the clamping pins 116 on the circular plate 102 creates the space for winding the cord 118. Further, the re winded cord 118 could be easily taken off using the self-fastening mechanism of the clamping pins 116 to loosen it.
The rewinder device 100, according to the present invention, is mainly used to store the lashing cord 118 to fasten goods or other items in lorry, trucks, ships and other cargo related applications. The rewinder device 100 could be used effectively to secure cargo for international shipping of cargo and containers on railcars, ships and other modes. The polymer based lashing cords 118 in the rewinder device 100 could be used to secure both heavy and light loads in containers easily. The rewinder device 100 is lightweight, portable and safer to use on a plurality of applications. The rewinder device 100 is cost- and time-effective and eliminates the damage to the containers and cargo.
