Abstract

A carbon dioxide gas vessel is fitted with a female (10) and male (16) connector parts. The male part includes a hollow cylindrical male member (14) with a seal (18) and a plunger (30) in a gas passage (28). The position of the plunger is defined by the shoulders (32,34) in the gas passage. The female part comprises a hollow cylindrical element (12) with an inner surface (22) for contacting the seal. In the base of the cylinder a passage (8) is formed containing a rod (6). The two parts are clamped together and fixed to the gas bottle by several clamping devices (48). A solenoid connected to the plunger forces the plunger down onto the rod, depressing the rod and allowing gas to flow through the passages (8) amd (28).
