The valve has a valve housing (4) forming a flow inlet (5) and outlet (6) that communicate with each other and with an throughflow opening between them and a valve insert with a regulating piston controlled by a thermostat element (10) for choking the flow in the throughflow opening. The valve insert together with a valve seat ring enclosing the throughflow opening is in the form of a single insert part.
