Abstract
Apparatus for treating liquids in a low pressure chamber (1), comprising a vacuum pump (2) and a separator (16), is new. The low pressure chamber is connected to the separator via a line (10) and a closing device (12) is arranged between the chamber and the separator. The chamber is connected to the vacuum pump via a second line (20) so that it can be evacuated by-passing the separator. An Independent claim is also included for a process for removing liquid residues in a low pressure chamber comprising making the chamber air-tight, connecting the chamber to a vacuum pump and disconnecting the separator from the chamber and pump, and switching the pump on and pumping out the chamber.
