Abstract

The patrix fixed to a tooth has a cylindrical retention pin, and the matrix (5) is removably fixed to the patrix and is connected to the tooth prosthesis. The retention pin of the patrix has a retention groove which receives a retention piece in the form of a plastic insert (7) inside the matrix. The matrix has an adjustable ring (8) for the retention force acting upon the plastic insert which has a retention ridge (15) with a smooth surface (16). The adjusting ring has an external thread (12) engaging with a matching internal thread (13) on the open end of the matrix housing (6) acting as an enclosed cap. The closed end of the matrix housing has at least one fastening flange (9).
