Abstract

The system operates on a metal strip (8) which is continuously passed over a coating unit. An electrically conducting earthed moving belt (15) lies against the rear side (14) of the metal strip (8). The moving belt runs with the strip to be coated over the coating stretch (4), and viewed in the width direction of the strip (8) protrudes over the two side edges (12) with a projection, s. This has a ratio to the thickness, t, of the strip (8) in the range of 1000:1 to 30:1.
