Abstract

A solvent-free, two component polyurethane coating composition contains: (a) a polyisocyanate component, (b) a polyol component, and opt. (c) known additives. The composition has an NCO/OH ratio of 0.7:1 to 1.5:1. The polyisocyanate has a viscosity of 500-12,000 M Pas at 23 degrees C, an isocyanate group content of 13-24 wt.% and a content of monogenic diisocyanates of less than 0.5 wt.%. It is a mixture of: (i) 50-95 wt.% of a polyisocyanate derived from 1,6 hexane diisocyanate with a viscosity of 100-4,000 mPa.s at 23 degrees C and an isocyanate content of 16-24 wt.%; and (ii) 5-50 wt.% of an isocyanate group containing polyisocyanate derived from a cycloaliphatic diisocyanate. Also claimed are: (A) the use of the composition for the coating of a substrate; and (B) the use of the composition for coating terraces or roofs.
