Device for detecting wear on friction linings, particularly brake pad linings, including a backing plate (1) receiving a friction lining (2), a sleeve (5) made from insulating material intended to be clipped onto this backing plate and having a base wall (6) and an electrical conducting wire (4) inserted into the sleeve (5) with its end stripped, narrowed, or cut off straight in the vicinity of the base wall (6) of the sleeve (5), the backing plate (1) including a lateral notch (3) intended to receive the sleeve (5) by clipping-in laterally.
