Abstract

A cutting head for a filament-type cutter, which is to be mounted in as simple a way as possible, is described. For this purpose, catch connections (16, 18) between the motor shaft (14) and the hollow housing hub (12) attachable on the latter as well as for the reel carrier and the ball-guide bush (26) are provided in order to secure these housing parts, containing the switching mechanism, in the housing (10), into which a single-filament reel (50) or alternatively a two-filament reel (44) can be inserted exchangeably and can be closed off by a cover (40). The cutting head can be used for the single-filament technique or two-filament technique. Located at two diametrically opposite points of the housing (10) are guide lugs (58) which guide the cutting filament (46) outwards. If the single-filament technique is adopted, one guide lug (58) can be replaced by a compensating weight (64). <IMAGE>
