Abstract

2.1 To meet the need of the telephone subscriber for mobile communications, mobile radio services, which can be roughly divided into the categories of radiotelephony service, radiopaging service and other mobile radio services, e.g. radio data transmission or service radio, have been further developed to an increasing extent in recent years. As investigations have revealed, there is an ever-growing need for extreme simplicity of use, additional facilities and supporting features of the subscriber equipment used. 2.2 To provide the subscriber, in the new multifunctional radio apparatus switching between different operation modes, with the user facilities also known in line-connected subscriber equipment, an answering machine is disposed in the radio apparatus, in particular a telepoint-capable mobile component or mobile component of a cordless telephone with a paging receiver built into the mobile component. A control device controlling the different apparatus functions and operation modes can also take over the function of an automatic dialling unit. 2.3 The new radio apparatus can be used in differently designed data transmission systems for switched connections. <IMAGE>
