Abstract

The suspension equipment is for a channel-section supporting rail, open to the underside, of a ceiling. It comprises a vertical suspension member with a flat, hammerhead-type anchoring member at the bottom end. This is passed through a slot in the web of the rail and in the installed position is below one of two anchoring drillings connected to the slot and contained inside the rail. Both edges (10a,10b) of the slot (10) are formed by a single lengthwise cut in the web (7) of the rail (5). They are bent apart so as to form a gap whose width (a) is sufficient to accommodate the anchoring member (4). The width of the latter is less than the clear width of the rail.
