Abstract

A catheter for introducing into a human body cavity has a flexible tube (10) which is provided at its distal end with an attachment (12) made of a substance which can be dissolved by body fluid. In order to guarantee a simple introduction of the catheter into the body cavity and a reliable positioning of the catheter end in the body cavity, the attachment (12) tapers conically in the distal direction R and projects beyond the end face (32) of the tube (10). <IMAGE>
