BUNDESREPUBLIK DEUTSCHLANDFEDERAL REPUBLIC OF GERMANY
Tag der Anmeldung: 30. Dezember 1954 Bekanntgemacht am 21. Juni 1956Registration date: December 30, 1954. Advertised June 21, 1956
DEUTSCHES PATENTAMTGERMAN PATENT OFFICE
Es ist bekannt, daß man Sulfonsäuren bzw. Sulfochloride aromatischer Verbindungen erhält, wenn man konzentrierte Schwefelsäure bzw. Chlorsulfonsäure auf aromatische Kohlenwasserstoffe einwirken läßt.It is known that sulfonic acids or Sulfochlorides of aromatic compounds are obtained when concentrated sulfuric acid or chlorosulfonic acid is used can act on aromatic hydrocarbons.
If chlorocyclohexanes are treated by the process of patent application B 28 561 IVb / 12 ο with chlorides of sulfuric acid, hexachlorobenzene is obtained. According to the patent application B 29867 IVb / 12 ο the chlorides of the Sulfuric acid can be replaced in whole or in part by sulfuric anhydride.
It has been found that hexachlorocyclohexanes Sulfonic acids of halogen-containing carbocyclic compounds are obtained when they are used with Halides or the anhydride of sulfuric acid or mixtures thereof according to those listed above Treated patent applications, but the implementation is canceled shortly before significant amounts of Hexachlorobenzene are detectable.
AuchParticularly suitable hexachlorocyclohexanes are those which have a chlorine atom on each carbon atom of the cyclohexane ring, especially the stereoisomers of ^ -hexachlorocyclohexane. Also

andere, ζ.
B. Chlorocyclohexanes obtained as by-products by substitution reactions in the additive chlorination of benzene, such as hepta- and octachlorcyelohexanes, can be used. .
The reaction takes place according to patent applications B 28 561 IVb / 120 and B 29 867 IVb / 120 in such a way that the chlorocyclohexanes with halides of sulfuric acid, for. B. chlorosulfonic acid, or the anhydride of sulfuric acid, which is also dissolved in sulfuric acid, e.g. B. in the form of oleum, can be applied at normal or elevated pressure, e.g. B. at 20 to 50 at. This can take place at elevated temperatures, e.g. B. at 100 ° and higher, advantageously at about 130 to 200 °. The reaction has ended shortly before significant amounts of hexachlorobenzene are formed. This point in time can easily be determined through preliminary tests. The appearance of long, spear-shaped crystals, which occur when larger amounts of hexachlorobenzene are formed, can serve as a guide. The treatment time is different for the individual chlorocyclohexanes, e.g. B., longer for / ^ - hexachlorocyclohexane than for the other isomers of γ-hexachlorocyclohexane. It is generally only about half the time required for the preparation of hexachlorobenzene according to the patent applications cited above.
B.acids are separated in various ways, e.g. B. by adding unreacted chlorosulfonic acid distilled off and the residue allowed to crystallize or by the sulfonic acids in the form of sparingly soluble salts, e.g. as sodium, potassium, ammonium or p-toluidine salt precipitates. . This can be done, for example, by adding water to the reaction mixture and adding p-toluidine or oxides to the solution. Hydroxides or other compounds, e.g. B.
. .Acetates, sodium or potassium, or aqueous ammonia, enters. . .
The halogen-containing carbocyclic sulfonic acids obtained are usually not of uniform structure, but are generally mixtures of different sulfonic acids, mostly monosulfonic acids.
Aus Hexachlorcyclohexanen erhält man z. B. ein Gemisch, das vorwiegend 2,4, 5-Trichlorbenzol-From hexachlorocyclohexanes z. B. a mixture that is predominantly 2,4,5-trichlorobenzene
suilfonsäutre enthält. . ·contains suilfonsäutre. . ·
The sulfonic acids obtained from halogen-containing carbocyclic compounds are valuable intermediates. You can e.g. B. for the production of dyes, phenols, chlorinated hydrocarbons and pesticides are used. They can be seen alone or in the form of their salts Use herbicide.
