Durch die deutsche Patentschrift Nr. 82386 und die amerikanische Patentschrift Nr. 498694 sind Luftleisten für Schuhwerk bekannt geworden, welche auf dem Princip beruhen, dafs ein beiläufig nach der Fufsform gebildeter Luftsack in das Schuhwerk eingebracht wird und dieses dadurch unter inneren Druck zu stellen geeignet ist. Alle diese und andere bisher bekannt gewordenen Luftleisten leiden unter dem gemeinsamen Uebelstand, dafs das Einbringen derselben in das Schuhwerk unter grofsen Schwierigkeiten leidet. Im aufgeblasenen Zustande kann der Luftschlauch nicht eingeführt werden, weil derselbe den Schaft nicht passiren kann. Der Leisten α ist nach oben hin durch einen treppenförmig abgesetzten Rand b abgeschlossen, in welchen unter Zwischenbringung einer Liderung c ein Deckel d einpafst. An dem Rand b befinden sich die Bügel e, denen an dem Deckel d angebrachte Knaggen f entsprechen, so dafs durch eine angemessene Drehung des Deckels d dieser mit dem Rand b luftdicht vereinigt werden kann. Inmitten des Deckels d befindet sich ein Rückschlagventil, welches das Aufblasen des Leistens gestattet.
