Da nun beim Betrieb von Kalandern die Maßgenauigkeit der Ware in bezug auf ihre Stärke im wesentlichen von zwei Faktoren beeinflußt wird, nämlich von der Walzendurchbiegung infolge Spaltdruck und Eigengewicht sowie von der Gleichmäßigkeit der Temperatur über dem Arbeitsbereich des Walzenballens, hat man schon vorgeschlagen, zur Regelung der Temperatur an der Oberfläche der meistens harten Walzen Heizelemente anzuordnen. Da diese Heizeletnente aber dicht unter der Oberfläche der Walzenmäntel angebracht waren, mußten berondere Vorkehrungen getroffen werden, um einen Wärmeabfluß in Richtung der Lager nach Möglichkeit zu verhindern.
