Description

A process for the preparation of culture media for culturing protomycetes and other filterable pathogens addition to Patent 937 248 It has been found that in addition to serving referred to in the patent 937 21.8 protomycetes under certain conditions, other filterable bacteria in human blood occur, which among themselves also multiply the growth conditions described and form an effective vaccine. The extent to which these germs can be addressed as pathogens for serious diseases that have hitherto been difficult to attack has yet to be examined. As with the viruses, which, according to the current state of research, are located at the boundaries between living and dead matter, the question remains open as to how far it is living or dead matter, even if all signs are based on the current conceptions for living matter speak. A not insignificant improvement in the culture process for the detection of filterable germs in human blood is now achieved by replacing a considerable proportion of the potassium hydroxide with potassium bicarbonate by z. B. used a lye with a content of about 4% potassium hydroxide and 6o / o potassium bicarbonate, or de zo% potassium hydroxide solution by the action of carbonic acid from the air more than according to the main patent.

Auflage, 1946, S. 3o3).With a nutrient solution produced in this way and recognized as useful in a culture experiment, it is possible to multiply not only the relatively large micromycetes but also other much smaller germs in the human blood plasma and to detect them microscopically. The magnitude of the latter and the typical virus forms correspond in every respect to the descriptions of elementary bodies (see K o 11 e and H etsc h : Experimental Bacteriology and Infectious Diseases, g. Edition, 1946, p. 65o; Reiner Müller: Medical Microbiology, 3 . Edition, 1946, p. 3o3).

B. 2o° C, gehalten.Example taken and sterile. Centrifuge (10 minutes at looo revolutions) citrated blood plasma freed from erythrocytes and leukocytes is in a volume ratio of 1: 1 with a sterilized, lightly oxygenated enriched 1o% lye, depending on the purity of the potassium hydroxide 3.5 to Contains 5% potassium hydroxide and accordingly 6.5 to 5% potassium bicarbonate, mixed, giving the mixture a pH of 11 to 11.5. But it can also be a zo% potassium hydroxide solution sufficiently treated with oxygen and carbonic acid for use come. The mixture is at a temperature of 30 ° C and lower, e.g. B. 2o ° C, held.
