Description
KAISERLICHESIMPERIAL
PATENTAMT.PATENT OFFICE.
According to the method of Patent No. 97541 valuable cotton dyes are produced when amidosulfonic acids of benzene or Naphthalene series with sulfur and alkali sulfur or analogous substances higher terriperatures '.' heated.
. It has now been shown that oxysulfonic acids and dioxysulfonic acids of benzene and Naphthalene series, subjected to the same treatment, pass into dyes which have tinctorial properties similar to those of the patent mentioned. They are capable of both boiling and cotton to color in cold bath. The nuances are predominantly dark brown, olive, blue-black, gray-black to pure black and due to their authenticity. against alkalis, acids and light, and especially distinguished by their fastness to washing. .
i. Farbstoff aus ßj-Naphtol-ß4-monosulfosäure . + Schwefel + Schwefel —i. Dye from β-naphthol-β 4 -monosulfonic acid. + Sulfur + sulfur -
natrium.sodium.
A mixture of 1 part ßj-naphtol-ß 4 -monosulfosaurem soda, 2 parts of sulfur, and 4 parts of sodium sulphide (Na% S + 9 · aq) is heated by means of an oil bath, by läfst slowly rise the temperature. At 140 0 (thermometer in the OeI) vigorous foaming begins, which soon ceases with careful stirring. The heating is then continued, and finally the melt is held at 250 to 260 0 for about 4 hours. After cooling, the melt is dissolved in hot water, the solution filtered, and the filtrate evaporated to dryness. The dye thus obtained forms a brown-black, easily pulverizable mass and dyes cotton brown-black in a cold bath with the addition of alkali sulfur. If the dye is colored in a boiling bath mixed with soap and potash, a brown-black is also obtained.
2. Farbstoff aus u, c^-Dioxynaphtalinß2 ßg-disulfosäure -j- Schwefel -f Schwefelnatrium. 2. Dye from u, c ^ -Dioxynaphthaleneß 2 ßg-disulfonic acid -j- sulfur -f sulfur sodium.
A by mixing 1 part of a r a 4 -dioxynaphtalin-ß ß 3 2 -disulfosaurem soda, 2 parts of sulfur, and 4 to 5 parts of sodium sulphide obtained mixture is heated in oil-bath at 250 0 and then slowly about 4 hours at 250 to 260 ° , the initially red-brown melt taking on a blue-black color. After cooling, the melt is pulverized and used directly for dyeing. . He delivers like this on cotton. The dye formed in cold baths mixed with a little sodium sulphide turns blue-gray to black, depending on the strength. The same nuances are obtained when coloring in a boiling bath.
An Stelle der Naphtol- undIn an analogous way one arrives at the other dyes when ß-naphthol in the above examples the one hand, in place of the ß} 4 -monosülfosäure other a- or ß-Naphtolmonobezw. -polysulfonic acids are used, or if the a t a 4 -dioxynaphthalene - ß 2 ß 3 - disulfonic acid is replaced by other dioxynaphthalene sulfonic acids. Instead of the naphthol and
Dioxynaphthalene sulfonic acids can be used in the same Way, oxy- and dioxysulfonic acids of the benzene series are also used.
