The subject of the main patent is a screw screen whose lower edges
have a bead shape. This creates a displacement body on both sides of the ship
created that directs the water flow to the tunneled propeller that
it does not tear off in the process. Thanks to this measure, the disadvantages that come with are just off
Deflectors existing screw screens occur, namely lack of water at the
Screw, cavitation, vibrations and vibration fractures as well as one of them
resulting reduction in propulsion performance, noticeably reduced or eliminated.
The spatial content of the tunnel formed by the screens is
in the known constructions mostly by the propeller diameter and the
Shape of the aft ship determined arbitrarily, so that watercraft that with
are equipped with screws of the same size, but with differently strong drive units,
which also have different speeds, often matching screw tunnel contents
own. This fact justifies the experience that despite the presence
of screw umbrellas do not stop the desired advantages. As is well known
are tunnels or screw umbrellas attached to freight ships for one reason only,
This also applies to the unloaded state, with part of the propeller above the waterline
dives to make it maneuverable on its own. For the loaded ship are
The umbrellas are of course not required, they even have certain ones
As a result, there are disadvantages that have to be taken into account all the time. Special meaning
achieves the described problem for navigation in restricted fairways,
where the distance between the bottom of the ship and the bottom of the river is disproportionately small
is. There not enough water can flow to the screw from below, so '
that this must draw water from the sides, but where again the screen edges
are in the way. Here a solution is now created by the invention by also
in such an unfavorable case the possibility of full maneuverability
is given. The lateral displacement bulges cause a lighter flow of water,
However, not all of them are able to do so in the case of sailing in restricted waters
Fulfill the conditions for achieving the optimal state. The one between the
Rather, according to the invention, the tunnel formed by the flanks of the screen must be precisely dimensioned
Have volume, the dimensions of which for both the loaded and the empty ship,
both of which require a different optimal tunnel content
results in the most favorable conditions. While at. empty the ship
must not exceed a certain level, otherwise the tunnel will not be at all
or only fills at high speed and the ship becomes almost impossible to maneuver
Do not fall below the volume when the ship is loaded, otherwise
the known after parts occur.
Fig. 2 der Zeichnung).
According to the invention, the volume of the screw screen underside,
the ship wall and the prevention level of the bilateral lower bead edges
Space in front of the screw about 5o% of the volume of water that passes through the tunneled
Part of the propeller at the speed corresponding to the rated power flows.
The section of the circle of the propeller is considered to be the shielded part,
whose chord is the tangent to both lower edges of the bead (see Fig. 2 of the drawing).
The dimensioning of the tunnel content in the manner according to the invention now corresponds
the need for both operating states.
