Durch den Vorschlag der Erfindung wird eine dreifache akustische Sperrung erzielt, da die den Schalldämpfer passierenden Schallwellen eine dreimalige Dämpfungsstrecke von je ein Viertel ihrer Wellenlänge zurücklegen müssen. Auf diese Weise werden Querschwingungen innerhalb des Schalldämpfers i. vermieden und eine nach allen Richtungen hin einwandfreie Dämpfung erzielt.
