Vorliegende Erfindung betrifft eine Neuerung an Tabakspfeifen bezw. Cigarren- und Cigarettenspitzen und verfolgt den Zweck, mit der Pfeife bezw. der Spitze eine Vorrichtung in Verbindung zu bringen, welche es ermöglicht, die Pfeife oder Spitze stets rein zu halten, ohne dem Raucher schädlich oder lästig zu sein, indem alle Niederschläge in die abgesonderten flüssigen Bestandtheile aufgenommen werden und schnell und bequem zu beseitigen sind. Die Vorrichtung besteht aus einer Spulen- oder Knäueleinlage aus aufgewickeltem, aufsaugefähigem Gespinnst oder Gewebe aus Wollgarn, Schnur oder dergl. von durchweg derselben oder wechselnder Stärke; auch können Schnur-. stücke mit Drahtenden abwechseln oder stellenweise auch bürstenartige Zwischenstücke eingeschaltet sein. Diese Reinigungszwecken dienende Einlage ist mit dem Pfeifen- oder Spitzenrohr in solche· Verbindung gebracht, dafs sie von dem Rauchkänal getrennt ist und infolge dessen rein bleibt; es tritt indessen ein Stück der Schnur etc. in den Rauchkanal, um die Absonderungen aufzunehmen,' und das freie Ende ist derart zugänglich, dafs, wenn eine Reinigung der Pfeife oder Spitze erfolgen soll, das gesättigte Stück Schnur leicht herausgezogen, abgetrennt und beseitigt werden kann und an dessen Stelle ein Stück reiner Schnur in dem Rauchkanal verbleibt. Die Anbringung der Schnureinlage läfst sich in mannigfacher Weise einrichten; die Zeichnung veranschaulicht zwei besonders zweckmäfsige Ausführungsformen. Die Pfeife nach Fig. 1 bis 6 besteht aus drei Theilen, dem Kopf 1 (der auch durch eine Cigarrenspitze i^a ersetzt werden' kann), dem Mitteltheil 2 und dem Mundstück 3. Erforderlichenfalls ist in der Bohrung α oder in dem Umfang des Theiles b zur Einlage für die Schnur eine flache Nuth vorgesehen; auch kann zum Durchziehen der Schnur in dem Theil b eine besondere Bohrung mit oder ohne Verschlufsstöpsel vorgesehen werden, so dafs die Schnur herausgezogen werden kann, ohne die Theile 1 und 2, auseinandernehmen zu müssen. Bei der in Fig. 7 dargestellten vereinfachten Ausführungsform besteht die Pfeife aus zwei Theilen 1 und 3, und es läuft die Schnur C von dem Knäuel oder der Spule R die Kanäle D und B¹ entlang, um die Pfeife entweder zwischen α und b oder an einem verschliefsbaren Loch a¹ unten am Pfeifenkopf zu verlassen.
