The invention relates to a mounting device for a radio telephone in a vehicle.

Cell phones, especially mobile phones, are often carried in vehicles, but are usually left lying around loose, so that when braking suddenly, the cell phone is thrown forward, can be damaged or even cause injuries to the occupants. In the event of an accident, there is even a significant risk of injury to the occupants.

Although there are holders for these cell phones, they do not provide a secure hold and impair usability. The latter is the reason why holders are usually not used.

The invention is therefore based on the object of creating a generic holding device which enables an accident-proof anchoring of the radio telephone and easy operation.

According to the invention, this object is achieved by a generic mounting device consisting of an adapter element, which serves to hold the radio telephone, and a base element, which can be detachably fastened in the vehicle, wherein the adapter element can be hooked into the base element and locked by means of devices on the base element.

Preferably, the adapter element holds the radio telephone in a form-fitting manner, while its control panel remains accessible.

Furthermore, it can be provided that the adapter element has a recess for an antenna of the radio telephone.

Furthermore, it can be provided that the shape and dimensions of the adapter element are adapted to the respective design of the radio telephone.

In a special embodiment, the adapter element is designed as a single piece. It can be provided that the adapter element is made of a tough elastic material.

Due to the two-part design of the holder, according to a special embodiment in which the shape and dimensions of the respective adapter element are adapted to the design of the respective radio telephone, a single base element in a vehicle is sufficient to be able to hold radio telephones from different manufacturers using the holder device according to the invention.

If the locking devices according to a further embodiment are to be operated via a single operating button, this enables one-handed operation of the holding device.

Fig. 1 shows the basic arrangement of a mounting device according to the invention, which consists of a base element 10 and an adapter element 30. A radio telephone 100 is inserted into this adapter element 30. Such telephones usually have an extendable antenna 200, which, however, protrudes beyond the housing of the radio telephone 100 even when inserted. The base element 10 has openings 14 that make it possible to either attach the base element 10 directly to a suitable location in a vehicle, e.g. in the middle storage compartment in the area of the handbrake or to another location that appears suitable. In addition, it is also possible to attach a holding element 300 to the vehicle at a suitable location and then screw the base element 10 onto it. Such mounting brackets are referred to as "Easy-Mount". They are individually tailored to the individual vehicle types and are usually inserted into the gap between the glove compartment and the actual dashboard and screwed in place. The mounting surface itself is inclined towards the driver so that the radio telephone 100 mounted there is clearly visible and operable. The radio telephone 100 is gripped by the adapter element 30 in a form-fitting manner. This unit can be hung on the base element 10 and securely fastened there.

If a different radio telephone design is used, another appropriately designed adapter element 30 is sufficient. The base element 10 is always the same, however.

The base element 10 can be designed as a one-piece element or as a two-piece element, as shown in Fig. 2. The base element 10 consists of two half shells 10/1 and 10/2, which are connected to one another by means of a screw 11. The openings 14 make it possible to fasten the base element to the vehicle or to a holding element 300. The base element 10 has hooks 20 on which the adapter element 30 is hung. Bolts 17 are used to secure or lock the adapter element 30 to the base element 10, which are mounted in a slide 15 by means of a spring 18, whereby this slide 15 is also formed by means of a spring 16 and an operating button 13 (see Fig. 3) is integrally formed on the body. The upper half shell 10/2 has openings 19 through which the bolts 17 protrude. If the operating button 13 is pressed, the slide 15 with the spring-loaded bolts 17 is pushed to the left against the spring pressure. The hooks 20 are tapered upwards in the top view and have very pronounced radii. In the side view, it can be seen that the free ends are angled away from the housing of the base element 10. This design makes it possible to hang the adapter element 30 together with the radio telephone 100 particularly easily and safely. The special design of the hooks 20 practically forces it into the end position.

Fig. 3 also shows that if the base element 10 is designed in two parts, a cavity 22 is created in it. Components, assemblies or similar can be accommodated there, preferably a circuit board 26, which, for example, has a control circuit for charging a battery. The circuit board 26 is anchored by spacer bolts 23 and supports 24. Openings 21 for display elements are arranged on one side of the base element 10, which provide information about the charge level of the battery of the radio telephone 100. For this purpose, it is necessary that the charge control device is connected to the radio telephone 100. This connection can be made using appropriate cables between the base element 10 and the adapter element 30. For this purpose, the base element 10 has an opening 25, from which the cable is led to the adapter element 30 or radio telephone 100. The adapter element 30 has an opening 38, since the radio telephones 100 usually have corresponding sockets in the lower area. An external antenna can also be connected here. Preferably, however, the external antenna is first connected with a cable to the base element 10 and from there in a combination cable to the adapter element 30 or radio telephone 100.

Fig. 4 shows an adapter element 30 consisting of two shells 30/1 and 30/2. The shells 30/1 and 30/2 are connected to one another via corresponding webs and slides. The adapter element 30 has openings 33 and 34 into which a locking spring 32 can snap. This spring is integrally formed on the shell 30/1 of the adapter element 30. If the shells 30/1 and 30/2 are slightly pushed apart at the same time, the locking spring 32 falls into the opening 33. The adapter element 30 is now open, so to speak, and the radio telephone 100 can be easily inserted. After that, it is sufficient to press the two shells 30/1 and 30/2 together again. The locking spring 32 jumps out of the opening 33 into the opening 34. The radio telephone 100 is now securely enclosed in a form-fitting manner.

If the adapter element 30 is placed on the base element 10, the hooks 20 engage in the openings 35 of the adapter element 30. The spring-loaded bolts 17 are pressed in by the flat structure on the back of the adapter element 30. If the adapter element 30 is moved downwards and reaches the end position on the hooks 20, the spring-loaded bolts 17 come into the area of openings 36, snap out and thus lock the adapter element 30.

To make a call, the radio telephone 100 is removed from the base element 10 completely with the adapter element 30. If the operating button 13 is pressed, the bolts 17 are pushed to the left. The angle-shaped openings 36 then make it possible to push the adapter element 30 together with the radio telephone 100 upwards and lift it off the base element 10. The length of the openings 36 must be slightly greater than the length of the hooks 20.

This design allows one-handed operation, which is a particular advantage.

The adapter element 30 has an opening 37 through which the antenna stub protrudes, in accordance with the technical design of the radio telephone 100. The position and shape of this opening 37 depends on the antenna 200 of the radio telephone 100.

Another embodiment of an adapter element is shown in Fig. 5. Here, a recess 52 for the antenna 200 is formed on the left side. In addition, this adapter element 30 has a recess because a microphone is positioned at this point in the corresponding radio telephone 100.

Another embodiment of the adapter element 30 is shown in Fig. 6. Here too, the radio telephone 100 is gripped in a form-fitting manner. A shell 60/1 is in principle identical or similar in construction to the shell 30/1, whereas a second shell 60/2 is designed in such a way that a cavity is created that can accommodate a circuit board 62. A connection to the base element 10 or to the power supply or antenna is made via a cable 61. Additional circuits that are used to control or operate the radio telephone 100 can be accommodated on a circuit board 62.

A so-called hands-free system can also be installed in the base element 10 or the adapter element 30, which consists of corresponding microphones, loudspeakers and corresponding electrical circuits. This makes it possible to carry out the telephone call process without removing the radio telephone 100 from the base element 10.

If you leave the vehicle and want to take the radio telephone 100 with you, you lift it completely off the base element 10 with the adapter element 30. Since the adapter element 30 is very small and surrounds the radio telephone 100 in a form-fitting manner, it does not represent a significant enlargement of the radio telephone 100 and does not cause any obstruction. If the radio telephone 100 is connected via cable to the base element 10 or the vehicle's power supply and the external antenna, it is preferable to remove the radio telephone 100 from the adapter element 30 and disconnect it from the connections. To do this, it is sufficient to press in the locking spring 32 and push the shells 30/1 and 30/2 or 60/1 and 60/2 apart until the locking spring 32 snaps into the opening 33. The radio telephone 100 can then be easily removed from the adapter element 30. Conversely, reinserting the radio telephone 100 into the adapter element 30 is also very easy to do.

The two-part design of the holder for cell phones offers a very high level of user comfort with the greatest possible safety. Different designs or equipment variants of the holder meet different requirements:

1. So-called passive mount: This consists only of a base 10 and adapter element 30. There is no power supply from the vehicle and no external antenna. This design is

Preferably used in larger cities, since the transmission power via the antenna 200 built into the radio telephone 100 is sufficiently good and the shielding by the vehicle itself plays a minor role. The capacity of the battery built into the radio telephone 100 is sufficient for occasional telephone calls.

2. As under first, but there is a possibility of connecting the radio telephone 100 to the power supply of the vehicle and a possibility of connecting an external antenna. The disadvantage here, however, is that there is no possibility of controlling the charging or charging activity of the battery in the radio telephone 100. Another disadvantage is that two cables (power supply and antenna) hang freely in the vehicle.

3. So-called active holder: Here a charging control device is integrated in a base element 10. The power supply is provided by a fixed connection to the vehicle's power supply and to an external antenna. Both cables can be installed in a concealed manner so that they do not cause interference. The connection between the base element 10 and an adapter element 30 or radio telephone 100 is preferably made by a combination cable in which a power supply and an antenna connection are integrated.

4. Comfort device as third, but additionally with integrated hands-free system: Of course, the hands-free system can also be installed outside of this bracket or connected to the loudspeakers of the
