Lock for a bicycle or mobile bike stand

The invention relates to a lock for a bicycle or similar mobile object with a bracket or flexible cord that can be placed around wheel parts or similar sections, the ends of which can be connected to one another by the lock.

Such devices are commonly used as bicycle locks; the shackle or flexible cord is passed through several spokes and placed over the corresponding wheel fork to help prevent unwanted bicycle movement. The cord and shackle can also be used to connect the bicycle to a fixed wall hook or similar to prevent theft.

The disadvantage of such devices is that the cord can easily be cut and the bicycle can then be undesirably removed.

Knowing this state of the art, the inventor set himself the goal of creating a device that increases the security of bicycles against unauthorized theft.

The doctrine of the independent claim leads to the solution of this problem, the sub-claims provide favorable further developments.

According to the invention, at least one electrically conductive wire is assigned to the bracket or strand at least in the longitudinal direction and connected to a power source and a signal element; if the strand or bracket is severed, the interruption in power triggers an alarm that solves the above-mentioned problem; the attention of passers-by is drawn to the vehicle or the corresponding object.

According to a further feature of the invention, the wire runs either parallel to the strand axis or in turns around it.

It has also proven to be advantageous to surround the bracket or strand with a sheath made of plastic or similar, with the wire then running between the strand and the sheath.

The signal element connected to the wire - preferably a sound generator - and the power source are advantageously integrated into the lock or attached to its housing.

At least one lock 20 is provided on a bicycle 10 comprising a bicycle frame 12, wheel forks 14 for spoked wheels 16 and pedal drive 18. This lock connects the two ends of a flexible strand 22, which is guided through a spoked wheel 16 and around the wheel fork 14 connected to it.

The flexible strand 22 consists of a chain or a wire rope. The latter is indicated in Fig. 3 at 24 and is surrounded by a plastic sheath 26.

Current-carrying wires 28 run along the strand 22, which can also be part of a metal net, for example, and are connected to a module 3 0. The module 3 0 is integrated into the lock 2 0 and connected to a battery 3 2.

If the flexible strand 22 -- in another design the inelastic bracket -- is severed, an electronic alarm sounds on the electrical module 3 0, which is triggered by the power interruption.

In an embodiment not shown, the weak current is introduced directly into the cable strands, the bracket or the chain with the alarm effect described above when the strand 22 is severed.

Lock according to claim 1, characterized in that the wire (28) runs parallel to the axis of the strand (24) or is wound around it. 3. Lock according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the bracket or strand (34) is surrounded by a casing (26), wherein the wire (28) runs between the strand and the casing. 4. Lock according to one of claims 1 to 3, characterized in that the signal element (30) and power source (32) are integrated into the lock (20).
