Abstract

The arm-chair is connected to a base (12) by an adjusting lever. The base is held in the reclining and sitting position by a detachable catch on the chair frame (1) or by fitments. The catch is forced into a release position, when the cross-bar (8) is moved from the reclining into the sitting position by the lever. The adjusting lever is swivelled by a linear adjusting drive mechanism (6). A rigid cross-bar (22) to which the second end of the adjusting mechanism is linked forms part of the base. The catch is in the form of a bolt released against the force of a closure spring (16), as top bolt is fixed to the adjusting lever of the base.

Description

The invention relates to a chair with a stand-up aid, consisting of a frame part with side walls, a seat part arranged in the frame between the side walls with a possibly pivoting backrest and possibly an extendable footrest, whereby the seat part together with the backrest and if necessary footrest can be lifted by means of two articulated chains attached parallel to the side walls on the frame and the seat part and can be pivoted into an inclined position sloping towards the front edge of the seat and furthermore a motor actuator with a remote control device is arranged to actuate the articulated chain mechanism, whereby the frame is also designed to be movable or displaceable on four rollers or runners arranged in the corner areas on the supporting surface, whereby the motor actuator preferably consists of an electric servo motor with an extendable and retractable spindle, one end of which is attached to a rotating first

In such an armchair, the seat is slightly inclined backwards towards the backrest in the normal sitting position in order to offer the user sufficient seating comfort. Furthermore, the backrest can be swivelled from the sitting position into a resting position. A footrest can also be provided, which can be raised to extend the seat to support the legs or feet.

In order to enable older and disabled people in particular to get up from the chair easily, a motor-operated stand-up aid is provided, by means of which the seat part, including the backrest, can be swivelled from the position that slopes slightly backwards towards the backrest to a position that slopes slightly forwards towards the front edge of the seat and at the same time the seat part is raised sufficiently so that the user is already in a slightly standing position and can therefore easily get up from the chair.

In order to be able to move and adjust such chairs on the floor, such chairs usually have four castors or ball-like runners by means of which the chair frame stands on the floor, so that the user can move the chair by rolling or pushing it, even while sitting in the chair.

The disadvantage of such armchairs is that when the person sitting in them wants to get up from the chair using the stand-up aid, the chair easily rolls back against the support direction of the person sitting in it, so that it is not sufficiently safe to use.

In order to ensure that the chair can be easily moved on the ground in the sitting position, but that it stands firmly on the ground in the stand-up position, a solution has already been proposed in DE-GM 91 12 558. When the chair is moved from the sitting to the standing position,

that the front castors of the chair are disengaged from the ground and instead a pair of feet rest firmly on the ground in the front area of the chair so that any possible rolling movement is prevented.

For such armchairs, it has already been proposed to use one and the same motor actuator to operate both the stand-up aid and the backrest inclination and, if necessary, the footrest swivelling.

The previously known design has proven itself in practice, but in some cases the stability of the chair in the stand-up aid position is not yet considered sufficient.

It has also been suggested that such an armchair should be equipped with a stand-up aid in such a way that a large base part is arranged and held on the armchair, which can be fully extended in the stand-up position.

on the floor (standing surface) and the entire chair is lifted from this standing foot and swiveled into an inclined position to form the standing-up aid position. This ensures that the chair is very stable in the standing-up aid position. The disadvantage of this design is that, particularly when only a single electric motor actuator with a threaded spindle is provided, which acts on the two rotating crossbeams required, intermediate positions arise in which the base part undesirably lowers itself onto the floor, so that the rotating or pushing movement of the chair relative to the ground is hindered. This effect is apparently based on the fact that with the electrical actuator with a threaded spindle that is usually used, the tensile or compressive forces acting on the spindle change when the backrest of the chair is adjusted from the sitting position to the resting position. load case occurs, i.e. a tensile load is applied to the spindle. At this moment, the base coupled to the spindle is released to such an extent that it can lower itself to the floor.

Based on this state of the art, the invention is based on the task of creating a chair with a stand-up aid of the generic type, which avoids the disadvantages described and in which it is particularly ensured that both in the sitting and in the resting position the base is completely raised from the floor and only in the stand-up aid position the base is lowered to the floor in order to then be able to swivel the chair as a whole into the stand-up aid position.

To solve this problem, it is proposed that the second cross member is coupled to a base part via an adjusting lever, which, when the adjusting drive is adjusted in the same direction from a position in which the backrest is tilted to a rest position and

if necessary, the footrest is extended, into a sitting position in which the backrest is less inclined and if necessary, the footrest is retracted, and then into the standing position the base part is lowered and the entire chair frame

and that the foot part is held in the resting position and the sitting position by means of a detachable catch on the chair frame or fittings in a position that is at least slightly back from the standing level, which catch is forced by the crossbar's own means, e.g. levers, from the locking position in which the foot part is held fixed to the frame into an unlocking position when the second crossbar is pivoted from the sitting position to the standing position, in which the foot part can be moved into the standing position and back into the sitting position by means of the crossbar-operated adjusting lever, whereby the catch is automatically transferred to the locking position when returning to the sitting position.

A preferred further development is that the catch is a sliding or rotating bolt that can be released against a closing spring and is held firmly to the chair frame or fittings, and that a locking bolt is held on an adjusting lever of the base, which is supported by the catch in the locking position and is released in the unlocking position.

It is particularly preferred that the catch can be released by means of a lever held on the second rotating cross member, by means of which the catch can be displaced or pivoted against the closing spring force in the transition from the sitting position to the standing position into the unlocking position and is held in this position until the rotating cross member is pivoted from the standing position to the beginning of the sitting position, in which the catch engages over the locking bolt under the effect of the closing spring.

When the chair is moved from the standing position to the sitting position (by operating the electric motor spindle drive), the chair is first lowered to the floor until the chair feet, castors or runners are on the floor and the base is raised slightly further from the standing position compared to the chair that is then standing up and is locked in this position. When the chair is further adjusted from the sitting position to the resting position, it can then be ensured, regardless of the tensile or compressive forces acting on the spindle, that the base always keeps its distance from the floor and does not undesirably rest in intermediate positions, which would prevent the chair from moving.

The armchair with stand-up aid essentially consists of a chair frame part 1 with side panels 2, which also form armrests, a seat part 3 arranged between the side panels 2, a backrest 4 and, if necessary, a swing-out footrest 5.

In the embodiment shown, the backrest 4 and the footrest 5 can be pivoted from the sitting position according to Figure 1 into a resting position according to Figure 3 by means of two articulated chains attached to the chair frame parallel and close to the side bolsters 2, as well as into a standing position according to Figure 5, in which the front edge of the seat part 3 is directed at an angle.

Transition from the sitting position according to Figure 1 to the standing position according to Figure 5, the base part 12 is extended relative to the chair frame, so that the chair frame 1 is no longer supported directly on the standing floor, but only via the base 12. The base part 12 is held in the resting position according to Figure 3 and in the sitting position according to Figure 1 by means of a detachable catch 13 on the chair frame or frame-fixed fittings 14 in a position that is at least slightly back from the standing level, as is shown in Figures 1 and 3. When the second cross member 8 is pivoted from the sitting position according to Figure 1 into the standing position according to Figure 5, the catch 13 is forced by the cross member's own means, namely a lever 15, from the locking position according to Figure 4, in which the foot part 12 is held fixed to the frame, into an unlocking position, which is shown in Figure 2 and in particular Figure 6. In this unlocking position, the foot part 12 is in the standing position and back into the sitting position according to Figure 5 by means of the adjusting levers 10, 11 actuated by the cross members.

The catch 13 can be unlocked against a closing spring 16, which is held at one end on the frame-fixed fittings, while the other end engages the catch 13. then engages over the locking bolt 18 of the adjusting lever 10 and thus secures the position. If the chair is moved from the sitting position according to Figure 1 to the resting position according to Figure 4, this involves a load change with regard to the effect on the electromotive actuator, in particular the threaded spindle. This is initially subjected to pressure in order to pivot the backrest 4 relative to the chair frame. At a certain pivoting angle, this load state is reversed, since the backrest 4 then builds up pressure forces on the threaded spindle, which without the arrangement of the locking bolt 13 would lead to the base part 12 lowering onto the support surface and thus the rolling or sliding movement of the chair being prevented. This lowering movement of the base 12 is prevented by the combination of the locking bolt 13 with the locking bolt 18.
