Abstract

The arm-chair is connected to a base (12) by an adjusting lever. The base is held in the reclining and sitting position by a detachable catch on the chair frame (1) or by fitments. The catch is forced into a release position, when the cross-bar (8) is moved from the reclining into the sitting position by the lever. The adjusting lever is swivelled by a linear adjusting drive mechanism (6). A rigid cross-bar (22) to which the second end of the adjusting mechanism is linked forms part of the base. The catch is in the form of a bolt released against the force of a closure spring (16), as top bolt is fixed to the adjusting lever of the base.
