Description
HUFEISENHORSESHOE
Die Erfindung betrifft Hufeisen. The invention relates to horseshoes.
Riding has become a mass sport in which horses are not only moved on special facilities or prepared riding paths, but increasingly also in the countryside, on asphalted roads or on grass. Accordingly, the horseshoes must be designed in such a way that they give the horse a secure hold on different types of terrain. For this reason, modern horseshoes have one or more holes in the two rear ends of the shoe into which studs can be inserted, for example to make it easier for the horse to move on damp grassland or on sloping terrain. These holes are usually provided with an internal thread into which the studs, which can have a correspondingly shaped external thread, are screwed. When the studs are not in use, however, the difficulties that every rider is familiar with are associated with keeping the holes clean, because when the horse moves, part of the ground that has been walked on quickly penetrates the open holes, so that these holes become clogged with sand, stones, grass fibers, etc. The holes therefore usually have to be laboriously cleaned before the studs are inserted, otherwise it is not possible to screw the studs in. These cleaning procedures when the hoof is lifted up make many animals nervous, often with corresponding consequences for the rider. In addition, small stones can get stuck so tightly in the hole that they can only be removed again with great effort and a considerable amount of time, and in some cases the thread can even be damaged in the process.
There is therefore still a need for horseshoes with holes for the use of studs, but which do not have the disadvantages described.
To solve the problem, horseshoes with holes for inserting studs are proposed, which are characterized in that the holes are closed by replaceable, precisely fitting cylinders made of metal or plastic when the studs are not in use.
The problems that have previously arisen due to the open holes can be avoided in a surprisingly simple way if the holes are closed when the studs are not in use. For this purpose, small cylinders made of metal or plastic are suitable, which in turn have an external thread that matches the internal thread of the hole. These cylinders can then be screwed into the hole without difficulty and thus cover its opening. The change from this cylinder to the stud is carried out in the simplest way by unscrewing the cylinder and screwing in the stud.
The cylinders, which are closed on one or both sides, are preferably made of metal such as stainless steel or aluminum. Instead of metal, however, a medium-hard plastic such as PE-HD, PP or PA can also be used. The plastic should generally have a Shore hardness in the range of about 74-90. These plastic cylinders are also provided with an external thread.
Die Erfindung wird im folgenden anhand der Zeichnungen näher erläutert:The invention is explained in more detail below with reference to the drawings:

Depiction.
A horseshoe has at least one hole near the rear ends for receiving studs (1a, 1b), which are usually provided with an internal thread.
When the studs are not in use, the holes (1a, 1b) are closed by cylinders closed on one or both sides with a corresponding external thread (2).
