Description

The Roach ball attachment is best known as a dental attachment made up of a ball stud and a slotted sleeve (see German magazine "Quintessenz", 1962, issue 1, pp. 35-52) and is still used today in various versions. In order to process the metal ball stud, it is necessary to cast it into the tooth crown or to solder it into a recess previously made in it. It therefore takes up a certain amount of space in the crown. The sleeve is less dimensionally stable in its open form, and an anchoring part usually has to be soldered on as well.

The aim of the invention described in claim 1 is to create a versatile dental attachment that is extremely space-saving, uncomplicated and can be processed individually. It should remain functional even after very long use without maintenance and offer the possibility of activation.

This is achieved with the features listed in claims 1 to 3.

The base of the male part, which is made of a residue-free burnable plastic or wax, can be ground down depending on the space available and thus attached to the casting model of the crown without taking up any space or requiring any preparation. plate provides the matrix with crucial stabilization. Since the cover plate is drilled through and slotted in the center, the sleeve reacts elastically and can also be activated by bending. The retention is already part of the matrix before casting and, in the form described, offers good support for attaching the model casting. When casting the parts, the usual procedure for casting crowns can be followed.

A further advantageous embodiment of the invention is the bar mentioned in claim 3 in the form of two rings, attached to the anchoring part. It offers additional support when pouring the matrix into a plastic prosthesis.

The invention, as described, provides for attaching removable partial dentures to dental crowns by pushing the sleeve of the matrix (1) attached to the denture (11) onto the ball head of the patrix (2) connected to the crown (12) (see Fig. 2). It is possible to cast the crown and patrix in one piece by simply gluing the patrix, which is made of a residue-free combustible plastic or wax, to the cast model of the crown using wax. The base of the patrix can be almost completely ground down beforehand to save space. The matrix, which is also made of metal, can be glued or soldered into the finished cast model of the denture without further processing. After completion, it is possible to strengthen the attachment connection by slightly bending the sleeve of the matrix. The male part and the matrix are now pushed together to form a stable, detachable connection between crowns and removable partial dentures.

Dental attachment for attaching removable partial dentures to dental crowns, consisting of a pin (male part) and a hollow form (male part) that can be pushed onto it, characterized, that the pin (2) is constructed from a ball head (8), a round web (9) and a base (10) and the hollow form (1) which can be slid onto it with a precise fit is formed by a round, slotted sleeve (3) which is closed at the top by a cover plate (4) which is drilled through in the center and is also slotted towards the open side and is connected on the side opposite the slot by a web (5) to a widened anchoring part (retention, 6). 2. Dental attachment according to claim 1, characterized, that both parts, made of a residue-free combustible plastic or wax, are used as casting templates. 3.
