Method for Filling Oil in Refrigerating Machines Up to now, filling oil into refrigerating machines has usually been done using a can from which the oil is filled into the crankcase of the compressor by means of a funnel. In this handling, it is necessary that the pressure in the crankcase of the refrigeration compressor coincides with the atmospheric pressure. Nevertheless, it cannot be avoided that air and moisture from the atmosphere get into the crankcase with the oil. The air that has penetrated in this way can be removed again by venting at the highest point of the refrigeration machine. The moisture that has entered with the air, however, immediately dissolves with the oil or the refrigerant and consequently remains in the refrigerant circuit, with the result that malfunctions can occur in the operation of the refrigeration machine.
The invention now relates to a method for filling oil into refrigeration machines, with which the penetration of air or moisture into the refrigeration system is avoided. The invention consists in that the filling of oil is effected with the aid of a gas-tight sealed vessel in which the oil is under a higher pressure than that prevailing in the crankcase of the refrigeration compressor, and from which it is via a connection line sealed against the atmosphere into the Crankcase is transferred. According to the invention, work is carried out, for example, that the filling vessel, for. B. a with a "shut-off valve sealed gas-tight bottle, the shut-off valve with a connection gel vinde od. The like. For a filling hose or a filling pipe is provided with the refrigeration machine in a gas-tight connection, for example by the filling hose or the filling pipe also by screwing After connecting the filling bottle in this way, the filling vessel valve and the suction shut-off valve of the machine are initially closed after the pressure gauge port. For filling, the filling vessel valve is opened first. Then the connection line is opened by loosening the connection nut on the suction shut-off valve The connection nut is tightened again immediately after bleeding and the suction shut-off valve of the machine is then opened. As a result of the difference between - the pressure in the crankcase and the pressure in the filling vessel, oil flows from the filling vessel into the crankcase a small amount of refrigerant is added to the oil in the filling vessel before it is connected to the machine, so that the vessel is placed under a pressure during filling that corresponds to the physical properties of the refrigerant and the outside temperature, while @ there is pressure in the crankcase, which is equal to the suction pressure of the cooling system and is therefore considerably lower than the pressure in the filling vessel. The pressure increase in the filling vessel can of course also be brought about in another suitable manner.
The oil level can, if necessary, with the above-described method of operation
observed through a sight glass or if there is no sight glass,
the amount of oil to be filled can be measured by weighing the refill container.
wesentlich vermindert. After completion of the filling process, the suction shut-off valve and the

can. The influx of air and moisture is carried out in the manner described above
reliably avoided 'and consequently the susceptibility of the refrigeration machine to malfunction
significantly reduced.
