The invention relates to a corrugated metal hose, in a pressure-tight design, manufactured in a ring-corrugated or helical corrugated form with a continuous corrugation pattern for producing a connection in sanitary and heating technology, for example between the boiler and a hot water tank of a heating system.
Such a corrugated metal hose can be made from a seamless drawn pipe or from a longitudinally welded pipe, in which the flanks of the corrugations are essentially aligned radially to the hose axis. The hose can also be made by winding a corrugated pre-profiled strip in a helical manner, in which the overlapping strip edges are either welded together longitudinally in the area of the corrugation crest radially outward to the hose. This then results in a helical hose corrugation.
If such hoses are used in heating systems in the manner mentioned, it has been shown that the flow medium water at high flow velocities

Attempts have been made to counteract this by widening the wave valleys at least in some sections and forming them into straight tube shapes in order to reduce the number of dead spaces created by the waves and thus also the possibility of vortex formation, which is the cause of the whistling noises mentioned. However, this approach has not ultimately led to a solution to the noise problem.
The object of the invention is to design a corrugated hose of the type mentioned at the beginning in such a way that it can no longer give rise to the annoying whistling noises.
Diese Aufgabe ist ausgehend von einem Wellschlauch der eingangs genannten Art erfindungsgemäß dadurch gelöst, daß der Wellschlauch bezüglich der Größen WellenlängeThis object is achieved according to the invention on the basis of a corrugated hose of the type mentioned at the outset in that the corrugated hose is dimensioned with respect to the wavelength

filhöhe h zwischen Wellental und Wellenberg innerhalb des gegenseitigen Verhältnisses dieser Größen im Bereich von 2:1 bis 3,3:1 ausgebildet ist.height h between wave trough and wave crest is formed within the mutual ratio of these sizes in the range of 2:1 to 3.3:1.
This design results in a very flat and elongated corrugated hose, which offers the flow hardly any opportunity to form turbulence and thus create whistling noises. In addition, the pressure loss for the medium being passed through is reduced, and the position of the corrugation flanks resulting from the design results in a higher pressure resistance of the hose. Finally, material savings are achieved, making the hose lighter and more cost-effective.
It has proven to be useful that the flanks of the individual hose corrugations run essentially in a straight line, thus achieving a profile in which there is no sinusoidal curve with an inflection point between the curvature arc forming the respective corrugation peak and the respective corrugation trough.
When manufacturing the corrugated hose, the wave crests and troughs do not have to be the same shape or symmetry. Rather, the troughs can be wider than the wave crests and vice versa.
It is also advantageous that the flanks of the individual hose corrugations have an angle of between 30° and 60° with respect to the hose axis. This range has proven to be favorable for producing a flow free of interference and noise.
Finally, it can be provided* that the corrugated hose is covered by thermal insulation in order to avoid heat losses in the envisaged heating system as the place of use for the corrugated hose according to the invention.
Further features and details of the subject matter of the invention emerge from the following description of an embodiment which is shown in the drawing .
Die Zeichnung zeigt einen Wellschlauch 1 aus Metall mit ringförmiger Wellung, dessen zylindrisch ausgebildeteThe drawing shows a corrugated metal hose 1 with annular corrugation, the cylindrical
Ends 2, 3 are crimped into nuts 4, 5 to create a screw connection.

Range from 2:1 to 3.3:1, in the case shown at the upper limit of the range mentioned.
The corrugated hose 1 is manufactured with straight corrugated flanks 6, the angle of inclination of which relative to the hose axis is between 30 - 60°. This results in an overall internal flow profile of the hose 1 that offers only a low flow resistance and thus has little tendency to form turbulence and thus to create whistling noises. On the other hand, the profile design described gives the hose considerable stability while at the same time using little material, thus making it light and therefore costing little.
For thermal insulation, the corrugated hose 1 is surrounded by a layer 8 of insulating material that completely envelops it between the two screw connections 4, 5.
