Der neuerungsgemäße Kanal besteht im wesentlichen aus einer im Querschnitt U-förmigen Profilleiste 1 und einem das Profil schließenden Deckel 2. Zusammen ergeben sie ein rohrförmiges Gebilde, das sich über die ganze Höhe des Möbels (siehe Figur 2) erstreckt und an der Rückseite des Möbels befestigt ist. Wenn der Kanal nicht als tragendes Element des Möbels wirkt, kann man die Leiste 1 und den Deckel aus besonders leichtem und leicht zu bearbeitendem Material herstellen, z.B. aus Kunststoff oder Nichteisenmetall. Außerdem ist es nicht unbedingt erforderlich, daß der Kabelkanal im Querschnitt rechteckförmig ist, sondern er kann, insbesondere was seine Schauseite angeht, an das übrige Design des Möbels angepaßt sein. Cable duct that extends along the back of a piece of furniture and is intended to accommodate supply and signal cables for electrical devices that are located in or on this piece of furniture, the cable duct consisting of an elongated profile strip with a U-section that is attached to the furniture and a cover that closes the profile, characterized in that the profile strip (1) has a slot (4) over most of its length, which is covered on the inside of the profile by brush strips (5) attached to both sides of the slot edge.
