Der Erfindung liegt daher die Aufgabe zugrunde, die gattungsgemäße Stützvorrichtung dahingehend zu verbessern und zu vervollkommnen, daß sie unter Beibehalt ihrer eingangs erwähnten Vorzüge vor allem wesentlich einfacher anzulegen und im Bereich ihres größeren Ringabschnitts auch erheblich anpassungsfähiger ist. Diese Aufgabe wird ausgehend von einer Stützvorrichtung der in Rede stehenden Gattung erfindungsgemäß dadurch gelöst, daß der größere Ringabschnitt als einseitig offener, manschettenkonturartig geformter Doppelring ausgebildet ist, der zwei im wesentlichen äquidistant zueinander verlaufende, C-förmige Drahtschlaufen und zwei letztere miteinander verbindende Stege aufweist.
