Die hierfür verwendeten Kunstleder weisen ähnliche Eigenschaften wie natürliches Leder auf, d.h. sie zeichnen sich einerseits durch gute Flüssigkeits-Aufnahmefähigkeit, Saugfähigkeit und Haltevermögen bei gleichzeitig guter Wringbarkeit (annähernd vollständige Abgabe der Flüssigkeit unter Druck), eine hohe Reiß-, Abrieb- und Verschleißfestigkeit sowie durch hohe Flexibilität aus.
