Pill box with one or more integrated dividing devices for solid pharmaceutical dosage forms with one or more dividing notches

The innovation concerns a pill box which is designed in such a way that a solid pharmaceutical dosage form with one or more partial notches can be split into two or more parts by pressing the lid.

To date, pill boxes have been offered that serve solely to provide the divided or undivided solid dosage forms of a drug. However, if only half the dosage of the commercially available solid dosage forms of a preparation is required for the administration of a drug, dividing them often causes considerable difficulties for the patient, especially for an elderly, farsighted or visually impaired patient.

The innovation in the new pill box is that it contains one or more dividing devices in the base, with which solid dosage forms, each of which has at least one dividing notch, can be split. The dividing process takes place when the pill box is closed by a splitting cone integrated in the pill box penetrating a dividing notch in the solid dosage form to be split, whereby the splitting cone can be fitted both in the dividing device and in the lid of the box.

To ensure a perfect splitting, it is only necessary that the dividing device is designed in such a way that

The dividing process therefore takes place completely hygienically inside the can, i.e. it is not carried out using the hand or any other tool. Contamination of the dosage form is therefore excluded when it is divided.

It is advantageous if the dividing device is designed in such a way that it contains a splitting cone integrated into the base. It is also advantageous if the splitting cone is rounded in such a way that it fits as precisely as possible as a wedge into a splitting notch in the drug to be split.

Furthermore, it is advantageous if a dividing device as described above is incorporated into a divider of the pill box. The interior of the pill box can thus be specifically designed to accommodate solid dosage forms for taking in the morning and evening and for taking in the morning, midday and evening. In the first case, the box contains a two-part interior and in the second case a three-part interior. This also ensures optimal use of the available space.

Protection claims 1. Pill box integrated with one or more dividing devices for solid pharmaceutical dosage forms, characterized in that the integrated dividing device is adapted to the shape of the solid dosage form to be split, which contains one or more dividing notches, in such a way that the dosage form is fixed when the box is closed and is split by the penetration of one or more splitting cones located in the lid or in the dividing device. 2.
