Eine Bücherstütze ist eine Vorrichtung zum Stützen aufgestellter Bücher. Eine Bücherwand ist ein, die ganze Wand oder ein gröGerer Teil der Wand einnehmendes Möbelstück, das hauptsächlich der Unterbringung von Büchern dient ( Duden, Das große Wörterbuch der deutschen Sprache, Wissenschaftlicher Rat und den Mitarbeitern der Dudenredaktion unter Leitung von Günther Drosdowski, Bibliographisches Institut AG, Mannheim 1976, Band 1, Seite 441 ). Die Bücher in den Vorrichtungen üblicher Bauart müssen zum Abtransport einzeln oder in geringer Stückzahl herausgenommen werden. Diese Tätigkeit ist zeitaufwendig und mühsam. Bei Gefahr in Verzug können die Bücher oftmals nicht rechtzeitig in Sicherheit gebracht werden. Bei einer Neuorganisation in einer Bibliothek können die Bücher reihenweise in den Vorrichtungen auf einem Rollwagen abtransportiert werden. Bei Gefahr in Verzug können die Bücher schnell in Sicherheit gebracht werden. Einzelne Reihen von Büchern können transportiert, sortiert und dann wieder zeitsparend in die Bücherregale eingestellt werden. Der Arbeitsablauf wird dadurch vereinfacht.
