Feed water pump system for boiler systems with two feed water pumps
The invention relates to a feed water pump system for large boiler systems, in particular
Extremely high pressure systems in which two feed water pumps are provided, each
have a special drive machine. Of these two pumps is in general
only one as the operating pump in operation, while the other serves as a standby pump.
Since the standby pump is started up very quickly if the operating pump fails
must, difficulties have often resulted from the fact that the previously turned off
Reserve pump due to the rapid heating by the hot water thermal stresses
learns that can warp the pump body and the runner so far that in the
Commissioning the runner can get stuck in the liners or bearings. Around
To avoid this, you already have an additional one for the two feed pumps

characterized by simple design and low operating costs. The invention exists
in that a paddle wheel serves as a drive for the slow running of the pumps, whose
Service water is taken from the respective service pump. A particularly economical one
Embodiment results when the equalizing water of the operating pump is used as the operating water

i mündet.
The drawing shows an embodiment of the subject matter of the invention
in a schematic representation of a boiler feed water system with two boiler feed water pumps
shown. The system includes two boiler feed water pumps i and 2, too
whose

can be designed as a steam turbine or electric motor. The hot boiler feed water
flows to the two pumps i and 2 from a container 5 through a line 6 and two
Branch lines 7 and 8 to. In the branch line 7 is a gate valve g and
in the branch line B. a gate valve is switched on, which is considered to be by hand
operating gate valve are shown. The feed water pump i pushes that
hot feed water through a non-return valve i i and a shut-off valve 12
a line 13 in the boiler, not shown. Flows from the feed water pump 2
the feed water via a non-return valve 14 and a shut-off valve 15 as well
in the line 13. As a drive device during the reserve position, each
of the two pumps i and 2 have a paddle wheel arranged in their housing on the pressure side
16 and 17 respectively. A line 18 is connected to the housing of the pump i, through
which the equalization water of this pump is discharged. The line 18 can through
a three-way valve ig either with a leading into the feedwater tank 5
Line 2o or to be connected to a line 21, which is in the housing of the impeller

22 connected for the equalization water of this pump, which is controlled by a three-way valve23
either with a line 24 leading into the feedwater tank 5 or with one
Line 25 can be connected to the housing of the impeller 16 of the pump
i flows out. In the operating state shown in the figure, the feed water pump is running
1 as an operating pump. The three-way valve ig is in such a position that it opens the line
18 connects to line 2i, while valve 23 connects line 22 to line
24 connects. In this valve position, the pump i flows through the line
i8 escaping equalization water through the valve ig and the line 21 to the paddle wheel
17 of the pump 2 and sets this and thus the pump rotor in slow rotation.
As a result, the boiler feed water circulates less through the standby pump,
all of their parts on one. maintains a consistently high temperature, which enables
Use the standby pump immediately as an operating pump without causing uneven heating
and harmful thermal stresses can occur. The emerging from the paddle wheel 17
Make-up water runs through line 22 via valve 23 and line 24
back into the feed water tank. Conversely, if the pump is: 2 as the operating pump
in operation and the pump i standby pump, then the valves ig and 23 must be changed over
be that the line 18 through the valve ig with the line 2o and the line
22 is connected to the line 25 through the valve 23. In this case, that serves
Equalizing water of the pump: 2 to drive the impeller 16 as a reserve pump
running pump i and runs through line 18, valve ig and line
2o back into the feed water tank 5.
In order to discharge the small amount of hot water delivered by the pump in reserve, a manually operated valve 26 is arranged in front of the non-return valve ii of the pump i and is connected to the feed water tank 5 via a line 27. Correspondingly, a valve 28 is arranged in front of the non-return flap 14 of the pump 2 and is connected to the feed water tank 5 via a line 2g.
The drawing also shows devices to switch the two three-way valves ig and 23 automatically by the operating pressure of the two pumps. For this purpose, a drive crank is provided for each of the two valves, which is actuated by a piston running in a cylinder. The three-way valve ig has a rotary slide valve 30 as a shut-off device, on whose axis a crank 31 is attached, for the actuation of which a piston 32 is used, which runs in a cylinder 33 and is under the action of a compression spring 34. A line 35 is connected to the cylinder and is connected to a pressure stage of the pump 2 in such a way that the pressurized water flowing in from the pump actuates the piston 32 against the action of the spring 34. Correspondingly, the three-way valve 23 has a rotary slide 36 with a crank 37 and a piston 38. The piston 38 is movable in a cylinder 39 and is under the action of a compression spring 40. The cylinder 39 is connected by a line 41 to a pressure stage of the pump i in such a way that the pressurized water flowing in from the pump pushes the piston 38 against the Action of the spring 40 actuated. In the operating state shown, in which the pump i runs as the operating pump and the pump 2 runs as a standby pump, the low operating pressure of the standby pump 2 acts on the piston 32. The spring 34 is dimensioned so that it overcomes this operating pressure. As a result, the piston 3a is in its left end position, and the valve ig is wired so that the connection between the lines 18 and 21 is established. On the other hand, the full operating pressure of the working pump i acts on the piston 38, which has pushed the piston 38 to the right against the action of the spring 4o. As a result, the rotary valve 36 has come into the position shown, in which the line 22 is connected to the line 24.
